Day 1

5 miles on the elliptical machine.

I’m actually in the process of training for a half marathon which is 45 days from now. (Eeeekk!) I’ve been getting my runs in, but not always as consistently as I would like… So, here I am again, trying to keep myself on track and share the journey!

Something unexpected happened today at the gym. I’m usually the not a very social person and tend to stay to myself when I work out. This very thin and fit looking girl on the elliptical next to me asked what level I had been on when I was finished. I told her, and she said “I would love to be able to burn that many calories”. I was really surprised that she would be envious of my workout!

Tomorrow is probably a strength day at home..

Great day 1! And congrats on training for a half, that’s awesome. What’s your longest run so far?

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Day 2

3 miles on the elliptical

Today was another somewhat significant day for me. I did my 3 miles in 30 minutes, which is pretty fast for me! I just kept pushing it, and then all of a sudden, half an hour was over! It feels so much shorter after doing these looong runs all the time.

It was so nice to get out some of that anxious energy.

Bree, my longest run so far was 8 miles. That was last weekend. My knees were not happy with me after that, so I’m going to see how the next couple long runs go. I don’t want to do damage.

Nice workout…

When was the last time you bought new shoes...or how long have you been running on the ones you have right now?

Knee pain could be a sign that your shoes are wearing out.  Just a thought.

Day 3, 4 and 5

Rest days.

It’s been somewhat eventful the last few days. My fi and I put an offer on a house! Unfortunately, we were out-bid. We had a huge crush on this huge, so it was pretty disappointing.. And, also, I found out that you can’t shop for wedding dresses on Sundays in Utah… No, boozes, and no dresses.

Back to the workouts tomorrow.
