I’ve been listening to MTM for a while, and I’ve finally decided to jump in here.  I’m feeling goofily nervous, so I’m really not going to do much here other than just jump in there and get started smile A quick note about who I am, I’m a 34yr old SAHM of one wonderful almost 2 yr old little boy.  Funny thing, I thought being at home would give me more time to take care of myself… but it hasn’t worked that way for me.  I weigh more now, and am more out of shape, than I ever have been.  I want to be able to bike with my little guy in the bike trailer this summer.  I want to be able to go for long walks in the wonderful parks we have around here.  So I’m starting where I am, and I’m moving forward.  One step at a time.

Day 1 is today!
30 minutes using the old WATP DVD.  Couldn’t do all the “moves” but kept moving through the whole thing, I’ll get there eventually.  I need to get to bed earlier, so I can do it in the morning before the little guy is up.  Trying to do it with him around is just asking for trouble in a “Whoops, knocked the baby down again” sort of way… But I do think it’s good for him to see mommy moving!

Hi Julie,

Welcome to the forum.  The first time I posted, I didn’t.  I log out before submitting.  I tried again that night and did a little 2 line post.

I know there are some SAHM here, even one of the moderators, Julie (zookie) and is one with a little girl.

Just read through some of the threads and find someone who is facing some of the same challenges you are and just say “Hi”.

Once again, welcome to the forum.

Hi Julie (Wow there are a LOT of “Julies” on here)!!  Yup, M is right, I too am a SAHM of a 2 and half year old little girl and along with bringing another life into this world comes the realization that not only do you have to care for that life, but yours as well!!! That is the best gift you can give your little one.  Just keep your goals simple, take one day at a time, and keep movin’!!!!  Can’t wait to hear about your successes!!!!

Thanks for the welcome ladies!  It is always nice to know that you’re not the only one dealing with your obstacles.  And that others have found ways to deal with them!  And I love seeing the quotes in other peoples sigs.  Like zookie’s “Pick your hard.” That’s kind of along the lines of what got me going here finally.  Just the thought that, there will always be an excuse not to do it.  I’ve never been the sort who has “liked” exercising.  Hot, sweaty and uncomfortable, bleh.  But… I don’t “like” being overweight either.  And one of the results of being overweight?  Hot, sweaty and uncomfortable, bleh!  LOL

Day 2
Got up early to get the workout in before the little guy got up!
30 minutes WATP dvd, kept moving through the whole thing, and was able to do the “moves” a little more today.

WATP=Walk Away The Pounds

They’re pretty basic, no fancy movements.  Mostly just gets you moving and gets your heart rate up.  I’m pretty out of shape right now, and I get frustrated with the more difficult routines in other dvds.  So I figure, I get so that I can do this with no problems, then I move on to something more difficult.  Might not get me fast results, but it will get me consitantly moving forward, and that’s the goal smile
