New year, New start. Works for me. LOL!

Well to start off, I got a new set of scales. Digital ones that weigh body fat as well as just the weight. These also weigh kilos & lbs with increments of 110 gr./1/4 lb. Which is good for me. I have to fight for every gram that comes off. Now to figure out how to get them to measure the body fat.  tongue rolleye

I have officially been declared disabled. That throws an interesting twist to the mix. Trying to deal with the CIN II (which MAY be active again!), chronic fatigue, arthritis in the knees, etc. is a challenge, but so, far, so good. And yeah, I’m now also using a cane a bit these days, especially when venturing out.

I’m having to tweak my diet AGAIN—looks like there’s a definite problem with wheat/gluten. At this rate, I’ll be living on AIR! Oh well....

So.... 2008 is going to be an interesting year. My main focus is to get at least some of my health back. Not sure where this journey is going to go this year, but it’ll be an interesting ride........................

I’m holding on for that ride, Sally! No doubt you’ll find the adjustments to better yourself. But, ugh, must it be so hard? We’re here for you, cheering you on every step of the way!

Happy New Year

Your post reminds me of the old Chinese Curse - “May you live in ‘interesting’ times”.  I’m sure you can overcome these new challenges and make 2008 the best year ever.  Knowledge is power so now that you know what you are facing, you will have a better chance of dealing with it in a positive way.  I have a friend with Wheat/glutin allergy and she eats wonderful fresh foods and feels great when she stays away from foods that make her feel sick.  Consider feeling great to be a reward for eating well.

Always listen to experts.  They tell you what can’t be done and why.  Then do it.

Been a few good days, so far. Too HOT to move much, though. Over 105F here yesterday, so most of the movement was from in front of one fan to in front of another. LOL! cool smile

Food wise has been pretty good so far. But then, how can you go wrong with tomato & basil salads made from FRESH-off-the-vine tomatoes & home-grown fresh basil??? YUMMM!!! Just stuck it all in the freezer for a few minutes to chill it all down & had with some cold chicken for lunch today. I’m gonna repeat for tomorrow. Those tomatoes are so SWEET! I’ve saved some seeds & I’m going to plant some in pots to grow during winter. My neighbor has more tomaotes than he can eat, so he’s invited me to help myself to what’s there. No probs—glad to oblige. hehehe....

And lemonade made from lemons right off the tree in our front yard.  tongue laugh Again with the YUM!!!

The fatigue is still a problem, but after getting the results back for my bloodwork (taken just before Christmas), it’s no wonder. Looks like the Hashi’s has flared big time. It’ll eventually settle down, though.

I’m feeling more positive about the coming year in a lot of ways. Still not sure what all is going to happen, but then that kinda takes the adventure part out, doesn’t it.

Oh—and I’ve lost a half a kilo since I last posted.  cheese
