Okay okay, Well in 2007 I made it to about 60 something days.  I started off well, but then when i completed my final goal, I guess I just stopped.  SO now I know what I need and I know what I need to keep me going.  I have to have some more goals that I can easily reach.  Because once I completed my Triathlon I just gave up and coasted the rest of the year.
Well it is 2008 and I am adding more goals and events to the calendar.  SO i have something to reach for.  Because I am not the best at self motivation (I know it)

Good news is from Oct 15 to Jan 2 I gained 0 pounds, okay I didn’t loose any but I didn’t add any.  So even thought I was exercising I was watching what I did and how it added onto to me.

December I joined this Jazzerize class and I really love it.  I have people around me to help me get up and go every day, as when i was running it was just me, who had to keep myself going.  SO i have made changed in 08 and I am going to keep going.

Jan 2 DAY 1
1 hour of Jazzersize, okay she added alot of moving and jumping, got myself a good work out

Jan 3 Day 2
another hour of Jazzersize, okay it was easier today, but OUCH my arms are killing form the arm workout I was given..

The hardest part of this challenge is knowing that despite its title of “100 day challenge"-it really is a lifestyle.  It IS really hard to form that pattern of daily exercise without knowing why you are doing what you are doing.  Just keep plugging along and make 2008 the start of a beautiful lifestyle.

Zanna welcome back.

I love Jazzercise too but I only do it 3 day a week.  I really like the group aspect.  My problem is by the time I actually can do the routine, she starts a new one!  I know it is to keep the brain agile too but my brain likes to learn slowly.

Have a great day!

Day 3 Friday Jan 4

30 min at Curvers (okay I know it is not much of a work out anymore, but I do get 30 mins of moving and time to visit with my mother.  Another thing it gets me up and going at 6 am)

1 hour of Jazzerise, today I moved to the higher impact to move the arms more and do bigger steps and got my heart rate up and could feel a great work out

I am still wanted to find time to add in running, my ipod and nike + is in need of attention.  I just got to know when I can find 1 hours to get out on the road (okay treadmill right now with temps at 8 degrees)

BRRRRRRR Zanna!  8 degrees?
and I complain about going riding when it’s in the 40’s!
I went running the other late afternoon(which ended up sunset by the time I got home) and my hands were freezing!
So I went out and bought ‘running’ gloves (Nike)

My wife just laughed when she saw them.....what .....running gloves? .....why don’t you just use regular gloves (I’m a sucker for marketing I guess)

The trick for me in keeping motivated has been to keep putting goals in front of me......one tri here, body fat % goal there, longer runs......(those were some of my fitness goals). Up and above that, goals for family, personal and spiritual growth and occupation growth all have similarities ......putting mini goals in front of me.....don’t know if it’s just my personality, being competitive (even with myself) or if this just a human trait, but without focusing on something, it just does not seem to happen.

So let us know your goals, and we will all be cheering for you to hit them!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Day 4 Jan 5th Saturday
Okay today was called a day of rest, well not so much a day of rest.  But I don’t think my heart rate was increased because I spent the whole day painting my kitchen.  Well now I have a nice color (kinda teal gray color) to help me feel warm and fuzzy in the kitchen.  LOL.

Day 5 Sunday Jan 6th
sled riding up and down and the hill with my family.  Okay this is not the city kind of sled riding this is county sledding.  First you have to plow you way through 3 feet of snow.  I had to make the trial for my children to follow.  After 4 or 5 breaks we make it up the hill.  then you have to make the trial down the hill to sled on.  Sure while my kids sat at top of the hill and laughed at me, because I did a few face plants while the sled stop sledding and didn’t/ Finally I got a good trail down the hill we spend 2 hours up and down and up and down.  Finally lunch time.  So in the cabin to warm up by the fire and some lunch.  After 1 hour of rest, the kids wanted to go again.  Thus another 2 hours of up and down and up and down.....  Hey at least there was a trial out to the hill so I didn’t have to make that again.  Thus I am counting sledding as a work out, and I am sure there will be a few more trips up to the mountain for more sledding…

Day 6 Monday Jan 7
Jazzerise.  Today it was kinda fun because my hubby came to class too.  He didn’t think I was really getting any kind of a workout.  Well lets just say he was strugling by the end.  The true question is if he will be coming to another class too.  Only time will tell.
So I feel like that is a good start to my week......

Day 7 Tuesday Jan 8
Jazzerise i think I starting to get the moves down.  I am starting to build up strength and keep on the higher impact the whole time… Also this routine there is 51 push up and started to keep up with them

Day 8 Wed Jan 9
2 mile run on the treadmill
needed one day home where my daughter could stay home and play instead of playing with the kids at jazzerise.

Day 9 Thursday Jan 10
Jazzerise for the whole hour and I almost finished the push up today…

Day 10 Friday Jan 11
jazzerise again, WOW today I got a burst of energy.  At work my staff was saying I was on a high and they want to know whenn I go to jazzerise again so they can be ready for my burst of energy..  It was nice to make the day go fast....  and I was motivated and happy to do it today.

Awww, where did this week go?  IT seemed like it was just Friday Jan 11 and now it is Sunday the 20th.

Day 10 Friday Jan 11
Day 11 Sat Jan 12 Was a day of rest, worked today and did a Wal Mart trip.  Needed to get out of town and go shopping.  So walmart is the closest thing and that is still a 30 min drive…

day 12 Sun Jan 13 I don’t know if it is called a day of rest, because we rearranged the upstairs.  Our LARGE Love sac from down stairs was brought upstairs.  Then a couch from upstairs was taken downstairs.  So this did get up a good heart rate and lots and lots of climbing stairs.

day 13 mon 14 jazzerise not as tough of a workout like last week but still keeps me moving

day 14 tue Jan 15 jazzerise

day 15 wed jan 16 rest today I was wanting to get on the treadmill today but that just didn’t happen today

day 16 thur jan 17 jazzerise

day 17 Friday Jan 18 jazzerise

day 18 Sat Jan 19 and day 19 sun Jan 20 Okay I need to do something on the weekends other than sleeping in.  I need to get up and do something.  I am seeing a trend here where I am slacking off and I need to change that.  I guess I will have this up coming weekend for making a change in this habit.

Day 20 Monday Jan 21 Another week, jazzerise, She really put a tough workout today.  Got my arms into shape
Day 21 Tuesday Jan 22 60 min Jazzerise, One day I am going to get up earlier and get onto the treadmill for a good run.
Day 22 Wed Jan 23 40 min run on the treadmill, yeah I got off my butt and down to the treadmill.  i was able to go for 40 mins, Not bad seeing I haven’t been running as much as last year.  one thing I did notice is that with my jazzerise I was not winnded as I have been in the past.
Day 23 Thurs Jan 24 I was closer to waking up ealier and getting down to the treadmill before jazzerise.  Maybe this next week.
Day 24 Fri Jan 25 Jazzerise I like friday work out because I know the routine and I really can kick it up to high impactr and get a really good workout.
Day 25 Sat Jan 26, Day 26 Sun Jan 27 Guess these are rest days, really did nothing to exciting.

Day 27 Mon Jan 28
Another week and will I do better this week.  I guess I jsut need to keep saying I want this one to be better than last week.  But mother nature thought of bringing in a nice COLD storm.  BURRR, snow and blowing snow.  Okay how much longer will winter last?  But I am now really enjoying the social aspect of Jazzerise.  I feel this week is more moving and aerobic than toning as last week was.  But still loving it.

*sigh* wonders when I will start to see the changes form the work that I am doing.  I am trying to hardest to keep the heart rate up and going.  I really would like to be min. of 10 pounds less by July.  I feel that it is a goal that I can really keep to.  6 months and 10 pounds...more would be better, but lets set to something that I can reach.

Goal #2 to train for a tri and be faster than 1 hour and 13 mins.  So I need to get up and get running to get my 5K time down.  To slim time off that......

I

so excited about your goals for you!

the one thing I have realized, is that your body will use what you give it. If you want to lose 10 lbs.....just eat 500 calories less per day than you are eating now (that’s if you know how many calories you are eating now). if you do this, consistently, you will lose a lb a week.  the exercise will keep you fit, allowing you to burn more calories, (but more than that, you just feel better when you move!)

Keep up the good work!  I know you’ll hit your goals!

WOW this thread is still here :D

I know it has been some time since I have posted, mainly due to the fact that my ibook was ran over by the car.  YIKES!!  So it was barely working and I could stand to look at it more than 5 minutes.  So checking and reading forums was out of the question.  Then I had to save up money to purchase a new MacBook.  So I finally got the new computer CHEERS!

Even though I havn’t been in the forums, I have still keep up with my Jazzerise.  I am now a 5 times a week person.  I have changed to going at 5:30 am.  Well this time allows me to keep up with my housework and other home events I need to do.  Yet it does make me go to bed a bit earlier (nothing to horrible about that).  I have also started running again.  Working on 1 day a week.  I would like to move it up to 3 days a week for 45 minutes.  I have a triathlon to train for this summer. I am going to beat my 1 hour 13 mins. that i did last year.
