Off to a strange start as this is the 2nd of January.

When 2008 rang in I was at a club, pretty bored and wondering “just when can I leave”. Shame I didn’t have my ipod with
me. For the next couple of hours I did a complete review of not only the last year but the one before and said, no more!

To make a long story short, this will be the “me” year. I will take care of me and say no more often. I will be facing a time when hubby moves out, so will certainly need the challenge and my goals to keep me focused.

Day 1 Wednesday - Jan 1st

rest day!

How’s that for a start?

I think yesterday was more than a rest day Josie.  You made some big choices!

Great job, Josie!

How do you like your spin class? I’ve always wanted to try that but my current gym doesn’t offer it. From what I’ve read in other people’s threads it sounds like it can be brutal.

Day 6 Sunday

Lovely, brisk 40’ walk to breakfast. Did get in a session on my pilate reformer also.

Emmi - I agree that spinning is brutal. It’s hot and crowded, always usually in an enclosed room with the music
blaring. And that’s just the beginners’ classes.  I’ve done a few where I’ve sat much of the class as it was way too
advanced for me.
But I do have a spin cycle at home (bought from my old gym) and I use it often. Not the intensity of a class though.

Day 7 Monday
Life did get in the way in the p.m. All those crappy chores we must do. That’s what I get for sleeping in.

Day 8 Tuesday

Why did I blow off the excercise yesterday? I know I feel better when I do. I didn’t even do my
relaxing yoga before bed.

Well, I’ve had a nice talk with myself this morning, yes I didn’t get up and excercise yet again.
That habit must become a habit again. Still talking to myself here.

Keep it up Josie.  Don’t beat yourself up.  You aren’t going to be a “gym rat” overnight… and if you try to you will probably burn out.  Take time to praise yourself for every positive healthy thing you do in a day.  Soon you will be praising yourself all day long.

Really cute Emmi!

Day 10 Thursday

50’ dance video from the 80’s. What a hoot! alot of fun and quite a workout.
A good stretching session followed...needed that too.

Not getting up in the a.m. like last week and not fighting it either. Just doing the afternoon workouts.
After doing this for 8 years, I certainly am having a hard time getting the habit back. That’s what I get for
taking off a couple months.

Food has been good, journaling and keeping track too. Gosh, I am starting over. This is a good thing as I know that
eye balling portions doesn’t work all the time. They seem to grow. Back to Basic’s.

Day 12 Friday
Long day at work. Short Pilates workout and a 40’ brisk walk was finally fit in before the day ended. Whew…

Day 13 Saturday
60’ LSB followed by 20’ yoga for stretching

Day 14 Sunday
Odd morning this a.m.  I started out for my breakfast walk (as I call it), had my HR monitor on and was keeping pace.
Ipod going, arms pumping and “silence”. My ipod shut off...I stopped walking....can you believe that...stopped!
Darn battery was dead.
Continuing on the breakfast, finally eating byself as hubby slept in and walked back home. I felt so out of place
without my ipod! Geez.....

Hey Josie! You are doing really great! I know what you mean about being lost without the iPod. I left mine in the car once when Hubby went on a week long business trip, it was torture.

Does this feel like it’s becoming a habit yet?

Hi Josie.  I don’t know what I would do without my ipod.  I have actually become a bit obsesive about charging it.  Isn’t it crazy how something so small can make such a huge difference?!

You are doing great though.  And I am sure that Emmi is ready with another cheer if needed!

Day 14 Monday

Lovely 60’ restoration yoga session. Ahhh....

So this morning, Tuesday, I slept in. Grr...but cardio planned this p.m. when I get home.

Should mention that I am going to Denver on Thursday to meet up with friends. Brrr.....I can’t believe
that we are meeting in the mountains in January. somehow, we should all have met in my back yard, Miami Beach!
Still debating if I want to bring my laptop. If I do, I could do some work or just don’t think about it. Hard decision there.
But I’ll be back online Wednesday the 23rd for sure.

Bree, finally am getting my habit back in place. But I have switched to the afternoon after work. When I get back from my mini vacation I do want to place excercise first thing in the a.m. again. I still get up at 4:30 each morning but housework and work have replaced my excercise schedule.
