Hi everyone,
I have been lingering in this forum for a while. I am 39 and live in Germany. After a few weeks in December where I have not watched my diet and hardly did any sports I have decided to get back on track and join the 100 Days of Exercise Challenge. I am listening to Scot´s podcast quite frequently and now I have decided to join you all.

In addition to the Challenge I am planning to get back into the WW program which I have been following in the past and found quite helpful to follow a healthy eating plan.

To start the challenge I went for 1 hour running on my usual running track in the woods. It is freezing cold here in Germany but very sunny and it felt great to run and come home afterwards.

I am now going shopping to buy all the groceries that I need to follow the WW plan during the next week.

Jordan

PS: I will probably write more on what my goals are in the next few days. For now let´s just say that I am planning to get in shape before I will turn 40 in July.

Jordan -
I am with you. I’m turning 40 in October. I don’t want to officially hit middle age with extra weight. It’s time to say bye bye to that! Keep up the good work.

Hi Jordan!!!  Welcome to MTM land and the 100 day challenge!!!!  I too am on the WW plan and have had success on it, I find it a GREAT supplement with this program as well.  Both go hand in hand and honestly, a lot of Scott’s teachings are based on what WW teaches.  Please do keep us posted on your day to day successes since this can also be accountability for you!!! Good luck!

Jordan you are a far more braver man than I, I can’t seem to bring myself to run in the cold and it does get cold here(-35 tomorrow morning) Plus I’m afraid of slipping and breaking some thing!

Yeah man, I’m out in the cold here in Northern British Columbia! It’s chilly but hey, we gotta move!

Great start, and I look forward to watching you meet your goals!

Hi Jordan,

Congratulations on starting your 100 Days!  There are quite a few of you soon-to-be-40-year-olds around here!  So, you’re in good company.

Hallo again,

did you realize? I had my first free day on my second Day in the challenge. wink

Today, however, I kicked my butt and went running again. I took a bad route though, lots of ups and downs, where I had to walk slowly uphill instead of my steady jog. Anyway, I was out and about for about for a good hour and was glad I got my exercise done. I should have run my usual track in the woods and I probably will do that next time I go our running.

Tomorrow morning I am planning on fasting cardio on my stationary bike while listening to some upbeat music from a new set of cd. That way I get my exercise done first thing in the morning and fat burning is supposed to increase by 43% (I know there is a debate whether this is true, but I think it is true).

You all hang in there with me and have fun in the process.

As planned I did today´s exercise first thing this morning.
One hour of spinning on my bike. Felt great with good music.

Since it will probably rain tomorrow morning I might just do the same exercise again. We´ll see…

I am still off work until Monday and I have not been following the WW eating plan too closely, but I will from Monday on. Eat too much fresh baked bread for dinner. wink

I will now watch another episode of Heroes on the internet and then call it a day.

I’m just catching up on your threat.  WW is a great plan.  That along with your jogging should have you looking and feeling great by July.

Good job getting out there in the cold weather.  I’m a wimp.  It dipped down in the 20’s this past week and I wouldn’t dare workout outside.  Good for you!

Hi Carrie,

I really hope that I will keep up my motivation and stick with this challenge and the WW plan to loose some pounds… I find that WW is a good plan to follow because the meals a quite delicious and it´s not one of those diets where you have to starve. I love good food and generally I like to cook. And with WW you need to cook if you want to eat good portions sizes. I rather have a large meal than a tiny slice of pizza. wink Anyway, I am determined to get my weight down from a current 97 Kg (213 pounds) to below the 90 kg (198 pounds). According to WW I am supposed to weigh 82 kg (180 pounds) but right now this seem for me to much to hope for…

I just had my morning coffee and I should better get moving now otherwise I will never reach my goal.

Jordan

PS: Carrie, I don´t mind the cold, but I hate to run outside when its is wet and muddy…

Yesterday, I went out running again. 1 1/2 Hours on a very nice path that used to be an old railroad track. It was cold but sunny and with Ken Follett´s new audiobook “World without ends” time fly by quickly.

Today was my first time in the office after the Christmas break (Yes, we German´s are quite pampered when it comes to holidays). I love to have time away from the everyday hustle and bustle in the office.

I packed a lot of healthy stuff to munch on for the office this morning. Melon with banana and light vanilla cream and a bit granola for breakfast, a salad and a light soup for lunch, some carrots with Tzaziki dip. That brought me through the day just fine. I have not done any exercise so far today and since it is already almost 8 in the evening I don´t think I will.  I have to get up early tomorrow to get some movement going first thing so I have it out of the way and done for the day. Therefore I have to announce this my free day.

At least I got the nutrition right today…

Sounds like you’re off to a great start.  Running is an amazing way to get fit, just make sure you get good shoes.  My wife really appreciates what it has done for me, I get lots of encouraging feedback from her ........

Good Morning,
it is 8 am here and I just finished 40 Minutes of working out on my stationary bike. and according to my polar watch I spend 440 calories.
Now I better get a shower and make myself ready to go to the office.

Talk to you soon.
Jordan

PS: You are right Brad, good shoes are very important for running. I got some Asics so I am on the safe side there. Bought them in a running store where they even tested them on me feet while running.

Good job on the 40 minutes!  Did you keep your heart rate in the fat burning zone?

Hi Chad,
yes I did keep my heart rate at about 135-145…
I was planning on exercising tonight but now that I am at home and it is dark outside and raining I don´t really want to…
I will set my alarm early tomorrow morning and jump start on my stationary bike… I really need to get moving - and I will…

Talk to you soon,
Jordan
