It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

If I had a basement, I may have chosen that option. My choices were to finish the workout watching the news and listening to the spotters from the treadmill, or the couch 3 feet away. But I’d probably been standing at the window watching the storm. So the treadmill seemed as safe as anywhere. I was in more danger of a power outage, that could’ve been painful. confused

I can see it on TLC now, “Bree, wife, mother-Storm Chaser extraordinaire.” New episode Monday at 8pm.  Watch her chase down 4 tornados and still get a workout in! Amazing TV

To Bree the Tornado Watcher…

Do NOT try that at home… go outside and watch tornadoes instead!! cheese

Actually, a tornado touched down about 10 miles north of where I was driving when I was heading home a couple of nights ago. Interesting January, ehhhh?

You have made great progress on your running… whoa… you should be proud that you could “Breeze” your way through a 5K.

Thanks all, and yes, I can walk on the treadmill without power. But its not very fast.

Day 9 (1/9)
abs: 50 crunches, 50 bicycle crunches
push-ups: 50 girlie
shoulders: 3 sets 15 with 5# hand weights
treadmill: 1.5 mile run, 1.5 mile walk

Feel awesome.

I second that!

If Bree can workout whist tornadoes are touching down I can head out and take a walk in the snow today. What’s the worst that can happen… I get a little wet smile

I was lucky enough to run inside, but probably would’ve if I thought Hubby wouldn’t kill me. Could make the run more interesting. smile

I got up this morning at 5, had a heck of a time getting going. I didn’t get to bed until midnight. But yoga was on the schedule, and if I start ignoring the schedule now it will be hard to stay on it. Though I keep pushing my run later. I like to do it right after work, but not if I have to run anywhere later. Which it seems I usually have to. Tonight I’m sitting for the preschool parent meeting. Too bad I hate doing hair and make-up more than once a day. I’ll get it done after Mouse is in bed—I always do.

Bree

You will manage.  You always seem to come through with creative ways to get everything done.  I know how you feel about the hair and makeup though.  I have trouble getting through that even once a day, and not that I work at home, there are days that I put on gym clothes in the morning, then right to sweats after my workout.  Thank goodness for ponytails.

Get your work and workouts done, get to bed early, get some rest and feel great tomorrow.
