Day 18 - 21 Friday through Monday Some shopping and housework, but not too much activity except for Sunday - went to Santa Cruz and walked for around 3 hours on the cliffs, pier, and on the boardwalk.  Really fun, but got tired and took a 2 hour nap after we got home.  Monday had PT.  My ankle is quite stiff still and the therapist gave me a new exercise + said I must stretch at least 2-3xday.

Day 22 Tuesday - Yoga planned for noon.  Missed the teleconference yesterday but will start listening to SMSM again starting this afternoon to reinforce and help me increase my activity.

Day 24 Thursday
Yoga one hour at lunch time.  Standing inverted postures including downward dogs and twisting poses.  Pretty strenuous.  Feeling relaxed now.

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Day 24 Thursday - update PT was good yesterday.  Spent some time on the elliptical machine, balancing on the bosou, and jogging in place on the mini-trampoline in addition to stretches for the calf and ankle, some leg presses and heal raises.  I’m feeling much stronger.  The therapist gave me some more exercises to do and encouraged me to start using my rebounder again at home starting at 5 minutes and building back up.

Day 25 and 26 Friday and Saturday A couple hours/day moving objects in from the garage.  Saturday pulled up a large portion of the carpet to check the condition of the hardwood floors underneath.  Looks like all it will need is cleaning and waxing.  Will have that done in February or March.  Meanwhile my house is looking really good.  Newly painted inside and out and has a new roof.  The roof leaked on Friday during the rains, and the roofer came out and took care of it.  My front door is also sticking, so the people who installed it are coming over on Monday.  Always something.  For me, even changing a light bulb is a challenge, so I’m learning a lot.  Some of the connections behind my TV and my new Bose sound system came loose and some disconnected, when I move the furniture around, so I had to find the manual, and figure out what needed to be connected to what, then reconnected it myself.  That involved getting down on the floor behind the TV, so that should count as exercise ! ! !  Went to SF last night for dinner, then walked to a bookstore and back.  My foot still gets tired and hurts sometimes in the evenings, so kind of limping and slower than usual.  Maybe there’s still some swelling after being up for too long. Feel good this morning.

how many __ __ __ __ __ __(pic your favorite people to make fun of here) does it take to change a light bulb....

5.....one to hold the light bulb and 4 to turn the ladder.

I know, I know, corny, but you comments reminded me of it… tongue wink

Lots of people seem to be getting sick. That stomach upset is across the U.S.

Hope you feel better soon.

Day 31 - Thursday - Worked late getting ready for a business trip/vacation in Puerto Rico.

Day 32 - Friday - One hour walk after dinner.

Day 34 - Saturday - 45 minute walk after dinner

Dau 35 - Sunday
- Super bowl Sunday with extra eating and drinking.

Day 36 - Monday -Spent about 9 1/2 hours flying from San Francisco to San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Some walking in the airport, drank lots of fluids to stay hydrated and possibly cut down on jet lag.  Stretches and some leg exercises on the plane.  Arrived about 11:30 pm, got settled in the hotel.  Slept pretty well.

Day 37 - Tuesday - Absolutely beautiful here in Puerto Rico.  Great weather, beautiful clear water, lush plants, great views.  I’ll attach some pictures next week after I get back home.  20 minutes elliptical, 20 minutes weight training, walked 30 minutes, swimming 20 minutes.  All this in addition to group activities involving team building event where teams had to take pictures at various required locations around the resort.  Really fun, kind of similar to reality TV.  We saw all the photos at the end of the day and my team came in at second place.  Business meetings each day, but lots of fun also, so the trip is both business and vacation.  Tomorrow’s meeting some input on strengths and weakness in our company.  Afternoon snorkeling/sailing.  Evening some time at one of the Bioluminescent Bays in Puerto Rico.  Will get in lots of walking + the snorkeling.  My son is here with me.  We worked out together in the gym.  I was impressed with his level of fitness.  He used the Bosou upside down for some of his push-ups.  Really tough ! ! !
