I just joined motivation to move a week ago and WOW what an impact it has made on my life. I stopped working out about a year ago when I received a promotion at work.  I work a lot of hours and even though I wanted to workout I felt bad because I have 2 little girls that I felt I needed to be with more than working out. I am getting my priorities straight and I worked out 4 times this week and I have felt great.  But then we just had a bad ice storm her in Missouri, I went outside and slipped on the ice and landed on my right side scraped face pretty bad I thought I was sore from working out this week now I am really sore!! I went ahead and packed my workout clothes for tomorrow but not sure if I should workout due to my neck being very sore. I don’t want to get off track and this is just the thing to do it.  If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.  My husband just says don’t go but he also really doesn’t get into working out.

Hi Chantal, welcome to the forum!

Let your body decide.  If it hurts (more than general soreness) try something else.  You don’t say what you do in your workouts, so may be a LSB (Long Slow Burn) might work.  And if it already hurts a lot when you move, go see a doctor or a chiropractor.

Hi Chantal!  I’m here in Missouri too.  I was impatient for winter to get here but after this weekend, I am already tired of it!  I don’t know what type of workout you have planned, but perhaps you could at least walk on the treadmill for cardio.  It sounds like you need to do something, or risk falling out of your routine, so do something and just be cautious until you are feeling better.

I agree that if you think you shouldn’t, don’t. Soak in a hot bath instead. If you tweaked something, working out may just make it worse, and that would really derail you!

Thanks to everyone for the great advice, I did go to the gym yesterday and just took it very slow.  I then went and visited my chiropracter and then had a hot soak!!  Stranded in the house with my 2 girls due to having a wintery ice storm.  Not sure I will get back to work or the gym until Thursday but I can still burn some calories by dancing around the house with my girls.
