I really didn’t feel like getting on that elliptical today. I watched the news and drank coffee until it was the last possible minute to start and not be late to work. Now that I’m done, I am so glad I did! Did great on my eating yesterday. I was offered Godiva chocolates and donuts. I took a deep breath and thought about how I would feel with that stuff in my stomach and walked away. I found out the Lean Cuisine Spa Cuisine is made with whole grains so I can eat that with my DI. I bought some last night and had the Lemon Chicken for dinner. When I opened it I looked at how tiny it was and thought “you’ve got to be kidding”. It was really good, but I went to bed hungry. Hopefully my stomach will adjust soon to these new portion sizes.
Hi Candy. Those meals are small, what I used to do is add a salad or some baby carrots so I could feel satisfied without devouring way too many calories. I know my tummy would rebel if I let it be too empty for too long. Another great trick is to drink a large glass of water first. I love tricks!
You are doing great, keep up the wonderful workouts!
Great job on passing up the donuts! You’re a strong lady! Like Bree said, it’s always good to have a small salad or something with those meals. It helps quite a bit! Doing fantastic...it will get easier!
Thanks Bree and Tammy! I will try that. Not so good today on the eating. There were donuts and cookies everywhere. I went during a break to do a little clothes shopping and felt fat. So when I went back to work I ate 1/2 a donut. That doesn’t even make sense!
hahaha...it makes perfect sense! It’s comfort food. Unfortunately, it doesn’t comfort as well as we’d like. You only ate 1/2 a donut though....that’s huge! I would have eaten 2 or 3. I’ve been having some difficulties lately with my food, so I understand how hard it is. Try to stay positive!
I had three Christmas parties to go to and lets just say I had a little “too much fun” to sandwich them. This is also the busiest week of my year. But, I did do great on my eating today. I have to be at work early again tomorrow, but after that I am back on the movement!
Not sure how far I went. I think a little under 3 miles. My Nike sensor went out this morning. It was a ruff one today. It’s cold and rainy. I am spoiled with all of the California weather. But I am glad I went. I was feeling gross after not working out for a few days.
Day 27
Elliptical 30 min
upper body 3 sets of 15 each: push ups, biceps, triceps, abs, shoulders
My goal for the next few weeks is to really do good on the healthy eating and incorporate strength training. I need more muscle to get my metabolism going! My legs were like jello and my lungs were on fire on the ellliptical. I am not used to it. Hopefully it will shock a few pounds off me!
The bad news is I only lost 1 pound since the beginning of November. The good news is I didn’t gain any weight over the holidays and I lost 1 pound!!!!!
Day 28
3.15 mile walk
2 sets each of wide squats, narrow squats and lunges
Thanks Julie! Love the new signature by the way. I lost another pound!!!! I never thought I would get so excited about 1 but it just means I am doing the right thing and the scale is going down. Now I just have to keep doing it!
Candy
I am so proud of you just keeping on. Faith- like a bird singing in the dark before the dawn, you are improving every day you move even when the scales don’t register change!! It takes ages to have your body change itself to burn energy. I wish you a new year bounding with the power of your conviction and faith that it working. Every time you eat that smaller serve and workout it matters!!
You are so inspiring!!!
You have already come a long way, Jane
Day 30 and 31 no excuse, didn’t do anything
Day 32
walk 2.72 miles
upper body strength training
Thank you Jane! You are inspiring too! Hope everything is well. Started the New Year off with a nice walk this morning. I am out at my parents house in Palm Springs and it is gorgeous here! I am getting my Mom into moving too. Hopefully next year we will be a lot lighter this time of year!
Happy New Year Candy!!! Sorry to hear you’re having some frustrating times, but it looks like things are working out! Your April goal is definately obtainable. You’re doing a great job! You should be proud of yourself!
