Introducing myself

Hi guys. I’ve been listening to Motivation to Move for a few weeks now and I thought I’d introduce myself.

I’ve been on a low carb lifestyle diet for 7 months now, and I’ve been working out since the begining of January and I’ve gone from 178lbs (I’m 5’4") to 146 this morning (nearly 18% of my body weight!), and I feel great.  My goal is 135lbs and I hope to make that by a year on low carb.  I did take nearly two weeks off of it about a month ago, but I felt so awful I just couldn’t keep eating all those carbs.  And I was hungry all the time.  So, I’m back on low carb and probably will stay that way.  Except maybe an occasional splurge for cookie dough ice cream (which I did not have on those two weeks, my weakness though was english muffins, but they were whole grain!).

My weight loss has slowed down quite a bit in the past three months, but since I’m getting closer to my goal i’d expect that.

Anyway, great show, keep it up!

Deaana

Hi Deaana,

Welcome to MTM!  First of all, let me second Lizzygo in congratulating you on your weight loss!  You must be feeling so great about yourself!

Please don’t hesitate to ask questions on this forum or share your trials and triumphs.  You’ll find that the community is a wonderful support group and we’re all rooting for you!  In terms of meals, there was a great thread a few weeks ago about Scott’s “eat what my wife gives me” diet, otherwise known as an alkaline diet.  It seems like it fits pretty well with the low-carb lifestyle.  You can read more at http://www.motivationtomove.com/forums/viewthread/162/

Once again, welcome and congrats!

Hi Deaana!

I’m seriously likin’ that “endless reflections candle holder” and “zen candle holder” you were talkin’ about on your blog! I am absolutely addicted to candles…

Welcome abroad! Congrats on the significant amount of weight loss! What have you been doing besides the low carbs?

I’m sure there must be a Partylite representative somewhere near you. Partylite contact information

In addition to low carb, i’ve been working out to various DVD workout videos, I have a Lucky Vanous tape that I like that has both cardio and weights in one workout, and I like the Biggest Loser dvd that has 4 pre-set workouts with low cardio, high cardio, weights and a “boot camp” type that I still haven’t been able to keep up with.  Videos are hard for me to get because I was absent the day they taught coordination but these work for me.  I also like to swim and sometimes hit the treadmill or exercise bike at the gym, but I’d much rather do stuff at home.
