One day I will figure out how to get out of bed in the morning and work out.  I didn’t make it out of bed today and I have to be somewhere shortly after work this evening.  I thought about trying to fit in a walk at lunch, but the wind chill is minus 5*F.  Sometimes I do wish I belonged to a gym…

So the net result is that my “live-it” won’t quite end with a bang.  But I am on track to stick to the food part today, and I’m wearing a sweater and a pair of dress pants that I haven’t worn in about five years.  Yay!!

Congrats on fitting into that clothes!  Don’t be down on yourself… think of all the things that you HAVE done over the past two weeks!! A day of rest is a good thing too, and over the course of the past weeks, it’s all about the average grin.  I’m sure there were some days that you did double workouts, right?

So, I just got home from work and now I’m heading out to take advantage of the nice day… tomorrow is supposed to get cold again, and they’re predicting snow for Friday.  I’ve been back to the gym at 5:00 for two days in a row and it feels like home grin Same old regulars… looking in better shape than when I left because they kept it up!  I’ve got some work to do.. but I’ve taken the first step.  I’ve decided to go to bed at a decent hour so that I can get up and head out the door in the dark.  It was all about the decision for me....

Hey Karen - good for you for getting up early.  I’ll be there soon…

And thanks for the cheery words. I’m only mildy disappointed about not working out today - I had a pretty light workout planned anyway, and I counted up and last week I got in more than 8 hours because I went on two big hikes.  So really, I know I didn’t NEED to work out today but I wanted that last little check on the calendar.  smile

So, do a bit of good old fashioned sit-ups, push-ups, etc before bed today then you can get out that pencil and check away!  grin

Hey Guys!

I’m hot, I’m sweaty, I’m breathing hard and dripping all over my keyboard.  smile Just took a 45 minute run on the treadmill listening to my favorite motivating music on my iPod.

At the pace I ran today, 45 minutes is about 400 calories and somewhere around 4 miles.  I usually hit it a little harder but I just kind of took my time today and listened to a bunch of different music.  Classic Rock was the fav this time.

One thought I was having today…

In one of my minutes and talked about the 15% boost you get when you exercise to music you like.  It really works.  On the other hand, if you have a television in front of you I find watching a news program will really drag you down.  Sitcoms boost you.  But nothing beats music.  It’s all about energy… the good stuff.

Well - in the morning I’m going to see how pumped I can get with my new dumbells and get some ab work in before I begin my day.

Good to see you guys to active - thanks for making MTM a fun and useful place.

I gave podrunner a shot over the last couple of days.  It’s very Techno and can really get you movin’ - just like a dance club.  Depending on your taste - you just might love it.
