By way of introduction, two years ago I weighed 262, right now I’d put myself at 185 so I believe the way it’s stated here is 262:185:155. I’ve kept every ounce of the loss gone for a year. I mentor 14 different people in their own weight loss, am about ready to take the certified personal trainer exam, and I really plan to get the follow-on certification in life coaching and weight management from A.C.E. I’m starting a men-only weight loss group in January.
Here where I live we have 100 days, on average, until the first warm day of the year. What better time for a 100 day challenge.
So here goes.
Today,
Cardio: 30 minutes at a 7 of 10
Cybex resistance machines 20 minutes
Bowflex at home for 20 minutes
Welcome, Tim! I love the timing for your 100 days, when you shed the sweaters, people will be amazed! What’s a Cybex machine? And what do you do for cardio? Yep, I’m nosy.
Congrats on all that you’ve accomplished so far, that’s wonderful, and helping others, wow.
Pardon! Cybex makes plate-loaded resistance machines, you know, you pull the little pin out of the stack and put it where you want it, to vary the resistance. I like those because I train alone and don’t want to have to find a spotter. Thanks!!
Congrats on the weight loss!!!
See! An object in motion stays in motion. Yeay for inertia!
How’s Cicnci today? It’s cold, gray and wet up here in Cleveland.
Day 5
Cardio: 14 minute treadmill warm up, 45 minutes stationary bike
Resistance: back and abs day. Now that I’m doing this intentionally I need to look up more exercises in this category.
Weight down another pound. Happy day not because the weight happens to be down but because I am goin’ after it with a plan that will not fail.
Tomorrow indoor rock climbing b-day party with my 12yo son.
Day 6 of the attack on Seasonally Allowing Dormancy (S.A.D,)
15 minute warm-up walking on the running track. 30 minute run-walk-jog. 10 minute cool-down. 30 minutes resistance training (shoulders) mostly dumbbells.
2 hours indoor rock climbing with 12 kids. I beat most of them every which way. My children are so fun to sweat with, they all have this drive to be the best that’s just fun to be around.
Raced my wife up the great big wall. My belayer was a woman who cheated for my wife! Rematch!
Tomorrow is intentional rest and recreation day. Except I play keyboards in the 2 identical services at our church, so it’s active rest.
Day 8
60 minutes of cardio, 30 minutes of resistance training—arms—on cable, dumbbells and resistance machines. Held my weight loss through the weekend without a problem and even gained some ground there.
