I am!

I love the feeling I get when I exercise and eat right - and lately I’ve been feeling pretty good.

As the “season” approaches Joi and I have turned up the intensity of our workouts and our fun - I hope you do too!

And have you seen the new thread dedicated to losing weight, staying in shape and have fun during the holidays?  It’s here:  http://www.motivationtomove.com/forums/viewforum/65/

OK - how about some new pictures for you.  (I expect you to share your fun too so get snapping and posting!)

Joi and I have been busy with the new house, planning a wedding and having lots of fun.  Here’s what we’ve been up to:

1) Next up was the wedding of Joi’s best friend.  Joi was in the wedding - I just got to buy a new suit.

2) Ditto - but notice how close we were to the buffet!

3) Next was BiketoberFest in Daytona Beach.  We spent just a hours but had a blast… and time for Joi to buy a new leather thing.

4) Still in Daytona - a little later - with a band and some fun.

5) Finally - we went to dinner last Saturday and found our favorite spot was having a Halloween party.  So.. we ran home and Joi jumped into her “Go-Go” costume complete with white boots and I slipped into my biker gear again… this time with no shirt.  smile See!  Working out does pay off!  And don’t ask me how Joi just happen to order a costume only a few days away without telling me about it - but I liked it.

And the last one?  That’s our Moderator Paula at our recent visit to Starbucks!

Wow you two are looking great!!!  Very nice photos of both of you!!!  Thanks for sharing it shows that both of you are working out hard and having fun in the process!!!  I have always believed that you have to make exercise fun and exciting!!!  I have enclosed a picture of my wife and I hanging out at a Fall Festival in Illinois.  Last weekend we went to a apple orchard and picked some apples.  Then at the farm we picked some pumpkins too.  I had fun running through the orchard with my daughter and my niece.  The kids were impressed that not only was I keeping up with their running pace, but I was leading the pace too!!!  I had to laugh when we started running up a hill and my daughter cried out that she couldn’t run the hill.  So I asked her if she was an Ameri-can or an Ameri-can’t, kind of a silly play on words combining American with either can or can’t ( Not sure if that is the right spelling of that word) So I said , “You are an Ameri-can, so let’s run that hill together.” So hand in hand together my daughter and I ran the hill.  I love being able to run with my daughter and keeping pace with her just fine.  I know this is because of all the hard work I put in working out and so that motivates me to keep on working and even work harder.  It just shows that working out pays off in helping to stay in shape and be able to play on the weekends.  Now that is what I live for.  I will post some more pictures later on.  Hope you enjoy.

I am looking forward to that!

Hey - Joi was kidding me today about how hard I work and snapped this picture while I was on a coaching call.  I have to admit - it does look like I’m just getting some sun… although the long pants tell you the temp must be below 70 degrees.  smile

Ahhhh… it’s tough to live in Florida this time of year!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Below 70 degrees? Where’s your jacket?
I start getting “cold” at 74 degrees in Miami.

So… what you’re saying is that you wouldn’t want to move up to Canada?  *grin*

It’s 9 degrees celcius here today (about 48 F), and that’s actually pretty nice for this time of year.  No snow yet = we can still go out walking with all the lovely, changing-colour maple leaves.

Cheers,
Julie

I just saw flurries go past my window and Scott has the gull to brag about his pool weather...tsk tsk.  The man has no pity on us northern folk.  Tsk Tsk again.

Hey - I’ll have you guys know that tonight it’s going to get in the upper 40’s and I may have to get one of those fire logs to burn in the fire pit while I sit by the pool, sipping glass of wine and enjoying the evening.  smile

Now Julie - don’t get me wrong - I love you northern folks and I love snow… especially when it’s outside the window.  This time though, I’m going to have to agree with Tom....BRRRRRRR!

By the way, Joi has never seen snow so we’ll be heading to snow country this winter to let her make her first angel and build a snowman.

By the way, Joi has never seen snow so we’ll be heading to snow country this winter to let her make her first angel and build a snowman.

Now that is the coolest. I got to take my wife (the born & raised in Hawaii Local Girl) to Chicago during winter and saw the wonder she experienced seeing and touching snow for the first time. We had dinner with a friend in the city and when we were done, we exited the restaurant to a fresh 2” of un-touched snow. Amazing that ours were the only footsteps in the snow in a city of that size. Wrote “Aloha” in the snow on a bus stop bench, threw snowballs at each other, and made snow angels (in a bark park...she was so excited I couldn’t harsh her buzz by saying what lay under the snow).

It’ll be the best…

Never Seen Snow!!!  She is in for a treat.

No sympathy for the 40-70 degree or less whiners - it was a cool 23 degrees Farenheit here in Nebraska this morning.
Needless to say - I did a record breaking a.m. outdoor LSB - And yes, it was fun in a toe tingling, nose numbing way!
