Are there other moms doing this challenge? Want the kind of support that only a fellow mom-of-little-ones can give?  Let me know where your thread is I’ll check in on you—you check in on me...okay?

Hi Sarah!!!!  I am a mommy of a 2 year old girl!!!  Before my little one came, I thought “Oh no sweat, I’ll get my rockin hard body back in a few months”.....then after months of bedrest and hospital stays and well, REALITY set in and I too needed the help of MTM to get myself in control of me and a good role model for my little one.

Hi Sarah!  I am a proud mother of two, ages 5 & almost 2.  I understand the frustration and difficulties in finding “me” time to exercise, read, relax, brush my teeth, etc. that comes with motherhood.

I’ve found that I am motivated to go to my community gym because they have a great daycare center included in membership and my kids will ask to go most evenings.  I’ve also found that with children comes interuptions, and I need to allow for unexpected rest days.  Don’t get too hard on yourself when these interuptions come up, but remind yourself that by taking care of Mom, you’ll be better able to take care of children.  You’re also setting a great example for them to follow.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or need additional support!

Hey, Sarah! I have a 5 and an 11 year old—both girls. I just got done going over the difficulties of working out with them fighting tonight. It’s possible, but not easy.

Hey Sarah, I have a 14 and 9 year old.  I started working out a year and a half ago.  It is possible to workout with kids but you have to plan for it.  Let your family know that it’s going to happen at the same time every week and they learn to expect it.  I go to a trainer every Monday and Thursday night without fail. They didn’t like it at first but now it’s just part of our life.  Getting in workouts on my own the rest of the week isn’t as easy but can be done.  You’ll get the hang of it.

Thanks Ladies!

Now that they are at school till 3pm, I can exercise during the day. I find that doing a 20-30 mintue video is a perfect break during my day.  I ‘flipped the switch” and now enjoy excercising and I look forward to it as “me time”

It was harder to fit in when my youngest was only in school till 12… But now I’m flyin’

I too am a mother of a “little one” - a 16 year old little one! In some ways it’s easier to work out now than when he was little - he has a part time job and is capable of being self sufficient for an hour or two each day. However… it seems that we have more commitments than when he was younger - I have learned to make my early mornings my time - nothing will unexpectedly interrupt me between the hours of 5 & 7 a.m.

I’m the mom of a 3 year old who is actually already classified as a “gym rat” *grin*.  She comes with me to the gym quite often, and lucky enough, there’s a playroom there, but often enough I find her on the treadmill having a blast!  (Not usually recommended, she’s very highly supervised when she’s on that thing, and if I’m in back lifting weights, she is not allowed to be up by the treadmill.) It can be really quite annoying to have a little one when you want to work out, as they can too easily turn into an excuse to not go that day, or even a complete time-waster, taking 40 minutes to do something that should’ve taken 10.

But it’s great to meet other M.O.M.’s (Mom’s Out Moving!)!
