Welcome!! What great friends you must have to direct you here!! LOL. When you get a chance give us a bit of background and your goals for this 100 day challenge....we’d love to hear it!!!!!
Hi Shawn, Zookie, and Gina!! It’s nice to “meet” y’all!
Just to let you know a little bit about me, I live in Conroe, Tx. I have an extremely supportive husband (who’s never been overweight in his life!) who is my rock. He’s always supported me in my weight loss endeavors (which are quite a few!) but I’ve not stayed successful. He wants me to be happy with me and to be healthy so we can do more things together. I have about 75-80 pounds to lose. My long term goal is to reach my goal weight within a year; however, if it takes a few months longer I’m not going to be upset. I have 5 short goals that I’m trying to reach every week (and month) that actually seem to fit in well with the 100 days program!
1) Exercise at least 4 times a week
2) Exercise an hour on Saturdays
3) Listen to MTM everyday
4) Eat reasonably
5) Lose a specified amount of weight per month (varies depending on my weight loss the previous month)
So, that’s what brought me here. I am so happy to have found this program and all those who participate in it!
Day 2 (SMSM 5)
Stationary Bike
30 Mins
7.2 Miles
Max HR 164
Avg HR 141
I will have my actual picture up here soon. I just need to find a program where I can crop the pictures I have so they’ll fit!
Okay, I have to admit, I downloaded the ringtone for my phone today. My husband always hears me singing it around the house, so now he gets to hear it everyday!!!
Day 3
Today was a rest day. I was going to workout, but I have to work on my paper for school, reach a chapter, and fix lunch for tomorrow. So, I decided to push my rest day to today instead of tomorrow (which, my tush was a little sore from the bike seat, so maybe it wasn’t a bad idea!)
I hope you all have a great evening! See ya tomorrow!
Tammy
Can’t wait to hear about your workout!!!Hope you get all yours tasks done and well, get to enjoy a good workout!! it is awesome that you have a supportive husband-it will make your journey a bit easier!
Hey Julie and Shawn! Yes, my husband has been a Godsend! He cooked dinner tonight for me! Of course, that could be because he doesn’t like my cooking.
Okay, down to business...today was Day 4 (SMSM 8): Bike, 7.5 miles, avg HR 153, max HR 181.
I am enjoying the SMSM program, which is odd because I never liked exercise! I don’t know if it’s the exercise that I’m enjoying, or feeling like I’m accomplishing something. Either way, it works for me!!
I was informed that my position at work is morphing...so now I will be responsible for 20 different jobs instead of 10...can I get a whooha Tuesday?! That’s okay, it’s just a little more motivation to become fit (stress relief).
Isnt wonderful to be blessed with a supportive hubby!?! Im grateful for mine too, couldnt do it without him. Hurrayyy on the addtional tasks at work, they consider you a valuable employee and its definitely Job Security..hehehe Just stopped in to say your doing awesome, Keep up the great work!
LOL now maybe I should start cooking poorly to get my husband to cook for me!!!! There is an idea!!! That is great that you are enjoying the SMSM program, I too love it and listen to it even though I guess I am not a newbie anymore. You are right, exercise is a great stress relief,a mental vacation of sorts.....looks like you will be needing it due to work stresses. Good Luck!
Nice to see y’all again! Today’s workout seemed to go faster than usual. Maybe I’m just getting used to it. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get up at 4 to do my exercises in the morning. I’m going to try again tomorrow morning.
Day 5 (SMSM 9)
Bike
30 min
7.6 miles
Avg HR 146
Max HR 163
This is the longest I’ve stuck with an exercise routine in the past 3 years. I used to run 3 miles a day, every other day. However, I got married, moved, changed jobs, and quit exercising. I have had very little motivation to start exercising again. It finally dawned on me how upset I was getting because my husband wouldn’t wear his seatbelt, yet here I was “drunk driving” with my health (to use an odd metaphor!). So, I decided to step up to the plate. So, I’m feeling quite proud of myself right now (even if it sounds conceited!). Only 95 more days!
Well, I managed to get my butt out of bed this morning and do my exercises. Boy was it so tempting to say “I’ll do this afternoon”. But, at least I won’t have to worry about it tonight when I get home!
Day 6 (SMSM 10)
Bike
30 min
6.6 miles
Avg HR 76%
Max HR 81%
Indeed it is better to get “it over with” first thing, it starts your day out right, warms up the body, gives you a great mental outlook on the rest of the day. Way to go on beating that “do it later” temptation-you are in control of this challenge for sure!!!!
