MIA for quite a few days. Didn’t realize that I hadn’t posted though.  This has been a good challenge. I have been amazed at the clean up I can do in just 10 minutes or the mess I can make also.

I’ve continued to do it since the 18th! Each and every day. I’ve pretty much given up on the closets right now and am “finally”
getting the stuff put away in the house, or the blinds vaccummed.

Josie, you’re doing great!

I, unfortunately, haven’t been doing too hot- my last 10 minutes was on Saturday- I actually got the bathroom cleaned in that amount of time (well, it actually took closer to 15-20, but hey- it’s the principal of the matter).  I’ll have to do some tonight for sure (dishes, anyone?).

Good for you Carrie! I love your tag too!

I’ve been doing good at this. Since I am either such a disorganized person or a slob, this fit’s me quite well.

I am now “devoting” 10 minutes at work daily to clear off my desk and the entire piles I’ve placed everywhere in the past year.

Somehow my 10 min. challenge has been working great at the office. Ouch, on my home though.
So starting tommorrow......those dreaded 10 minute tasks will start at home again.

Ah, what challenge?

I completely forgot about this and I know I need 10 minutes to just clear things some.

So starting over again in November. Today!

Where’s everyone else?

I’m still doing my 10 minute challenge, is anyone else.

Seems that for me, it’s something that I can squeezzeee into my day and not feel like I am doing a chore.
How’s everyone doing?

My 10 minute challenge hasn’t been going- it’s been back to super-long, as much as I can get done types of things!  Glad you’re doing well on it, and I should get re-going!

I gave up this challenge. I do what I can do when I can do it. Working three jobs I’m lucky to take care of laundry and washing my dishes. The dust will still be there when I have time. Right now it’s all about priorities and dusting is not one of them. I’d rather make more time for exercise and sleep. Hopefully you can understand.

I thought I would start this up again.

I have 2 weeks to get the house together for my brother’s visit.

The 3 rooms I will work in for 10 minute each day

1) His bedroom & bathroom(the guest room)-mainly cleanout of all the stuff that ended up there during the remodel
2) the dinning room
3) the kitchen

I will start tomorrow.

Great way to keep a good idea alive.  I’m going to join you in my 10 minute a day to a beautiful home environment.  It doesn’t take much to keep things manageable.  Just like weight loss, it’s easier to lose 2 pounds than to lose 20.

About the last thing I wanted to do today was housework, but after dinner I spent the time to clean all of the dishes, pots and pans, and set up coffee for the morning.  In reality it was less than 10 minutes, but that’s OK.  I’m going to feel great tomorrow when I go in to a pristine kitchen with fresh coffee a click of a switch away.

Tomorrow, I kick the cat out of bed and make it before I start work.  Maybe 2 minutes, then empty the dishwasher, and start laundry (another 2 minutes).  I’m sure I can find some more stuff to take up the remainder of my time.

Kitchen looks good. Today I think i will spend 10 minutes tiding up the closet. I should have done that yesterday while I was in there while the tornado sirens were going off.

Thanks, Bree!  I love it!  Now, the question is, which do I pick?  Dishes? Laundry? Picking up?  See, for me it has to be very specific like that. smile

Okay, I’ll go general- 10 minutes of doing SOMETHING to improve the condition of the house, be it one of the above or something else.

I’m a just a nerd basically but I actually have done up weekly chart of all the tasks that have to be done in a fortnight for my life to stay generally on track. Wash dog, Bins Out, Clean out Fridge (this of course happens the night before the bins go out), once you get them down on post it notes or jot them on paper and see what things fall in the week the order will make itself clear. i.e. Dog gets washed on weekend cause she’s long haired and take all day to dry on the balcony so she dosn’t roll in the dirt.  Washing gets done one day, ironing usually on a Sunday night infront of TV. Shopping happens after work the day after I’ve clean out the fridge so I’m not getting a build up of science experiments.  It sounds all very Martha Stewart but really its not once the chart is done its a no brainer. Tues - clean out fridge (and when you do it weekly it takes a lot less than 10 mins!)

I’m going to restart this for myself too! I have some clutter in several areas that really needs some attention. Today it’ll be in the bathroom. Lots of old products in there that could be tossed.

Hi guys,
Heres another thought to keep you moving & sorting. I sort my draws in the lounge room in front of the television - one draw at a time - take them out spread the stuff on the coffee table and away I go. It eases the boredom and the time flies.
I also think of it like a practical affirmation - tidy draws, tidy mind.  Cheers Penny

Hey - I jus saw this thread! Have you ever checked out flylady.com? It is like the MTM for cleaning and organization. It follows the same thme of what you are talking about, that in 15 minutes and a little diligence, you can clean anything in your house.grin
