Once upon a time a long time ago I had some friends in the professional mountain biking world. At a race at Mammoth Mountain my friend Mikki introduced me to her new teammate Tara. Tara was a young up and comer who I began to follow through the cycling press. Tara was always competitive and like my friend Mikki made many podiums and was well liked among other competitors.

All that changed at a race on September 1st. While competing in a semi final round she experienced a hard crash. Her back was broken in two places and her spinal cord was injured. This vibrant young woman of thirty is facing life in a wheelchair now. The posts on her myspace are nothing but testimonials to the kind of person she is, but also serve as inspiration because through all this she can still smile.

If you are blessed with a couple extra dollars, consider donating to her rehab costs at:

It’s gonna be near impossible for me not to keep moving now. Thanks for reading.
