Hey Carlyn,

I just got a new computer, a MacBook and I’m not sure how to reduce the picture size so that I could post it on this site.

I don’t have Paint, Photoshop… or any other Microsoft programs.... just IPhoto.  Can you help?

Skteacher, I don’t have a Mac but I believe they come with a program called Iphoto, here is a link to a tutorial- http://iuseapple.com/blog/apple-how-to/beginner-os-x/2006/10/12/resizing-photos-in-iphoto-for-the-web/

Carlyn, I think you should create a sticky with all this information.

Shawn,
Thank you!  It’s fairly easy once you know what you’re doing cheese  This link was just perfect.

Carlyn,
I agree with Shawn that this link should be a “sticky” - the site offers fool proof step-by-step instructions that I’m sure will help other Mac users out there…

Awesome. Thanks for helping out Shawn!

SkTeacher - I see you got your picture posted perfectly - thanks for sharing your smile!

By the way, you may noticed I did create a couple stickies in this forum with all the photo editing info for Adobe, Paint, and iPhoto. Thank goodness we’ve got such great tech contributions from members smile

Carlyn… HELP!

I’ve edited my pic but I can’t get it to upload.  I go into Edit Avatar and delete my old one.  Then, I browse and choose my new one.  But after the upload, it reverts back to the old avatar.  ohh

I have found that if the picture looks like it has been stretched in some way, it probably been changed so I refresh the page.

Sometime, the new avatar is there, no problem.

And on one person, my computer can’t read here avatar so it just has that little picture symbol and “avatar” and refresh does not help.

Hmm.. Do you remember which user it is? Maybe I can take a look at her avatar to see if it’s formatted correctly.

Thanks so much for the link to teach me how to resize my photo. It’s now uploaded. I appreciate it. Happy Holidays.
