Some very yummy sounding breakfasts in this thread!
This morning I had some plain low-fat yogurt (with some Splenda mixed in), topped with a handful of fresh blueberries (maybe 3/4 cup?) and another handful of Fiber One cereal. Quick and satisfying. But really ugly to look at once everything is stirred together!
hmm… Adding a fiber cereal to the mix… A little crunch, and more calories… That might be a good answer. I don’t like the 200 calories in the yogurt drink, since I’m aiming for 300 a meal. But the cereal might be the extra kick I need.
I wonder what a serving of protein shake would taste like in there?
That’s so funny, Eric, I just posted about fiber cereal in the question about hitting your calorie requirements. Freaky.
This morning I had a yogurt smoothie and a fiber one bar. Plus my coffee and water.
And I take my coffee with 1/4 cup 2% milk and 3 packets of splenda. In case anyone wonders. There’s another thought, how do you take your coffee? I knew a lady who would put in one of those little mini cups of ice cream in every one of her cups of coffee. I never tried it, but bet it was sweet.
My favorite breakfast is 1 cup of plaain yogurt, with fiber one and fruit. I tend to use stevia to sweeten it a bit unless my fruit is an apple and then I sprinkle some cinnamon on top. I do not drink coffee, but have been enjoying hot water with lemon—which I have heard is good for detoxing. I just think it tasted refreshing.
Oo. Lunch. Let’s have the topic move forward. What morning snacks/lunch does everyone do?
I’m pushing a 6 meal day. My first morning snack (9:30) is usually a protein bar. My 11:00 tends to lean towards a fruit, since I need the carbs before the workout. My actual lunch (1pm) is usually a high protein with a veggie, like chicken or fish with broccoli. Maybe a boca burger if I feel the need to have some carbs.
I do not typically have a morning snack, but if I get hungry I usully have a piece of fruit.
Lunch is usually leftovers. Yesterday, however, I went out to lunch with my daughter and I had a bagel with cream cheese and 1/2 of a rice crispie bar. Definately out of the ordinary.!!
I had almost the exact same smoothie as Gina! Berries, pineapple juice, non fat yogurt and protein powder. I also had some coffee. I drink mine black, straight from the pot to the cup, the hotter the better.
Quaker Weight-Control Oatmeal (Maple flavor) with a handful of fresh blueberries, two small slices of center-cut bacon, and a glass of non-fat milk. Oh and my usual mug of coffee.
For some strange reason I had the taste for poached eggs, so I had two poached eggs over 1 english muffin. Very delicous. I don’t have eggs like this very often, usually just once a month, if even that. To go with it I had one glass of OJ and my coffee to go in my special insulated mug. My coffee had 1oz. of Kahula Coffee Flavoring, and a small very small dab of wipped cream on top( Usually I have Low Fat Milk on top, but Fridays I treat myself to whipped cream instead) . I have perfected my coffee making skills so that it tastes just like Star Bucks without the big cost. My mug is a special stainless steel mug that keeps it very warm and tastes so good. I dislike the all plastic coffee mugs, don’t want my coffee to taste like plastic. Yep, I am a coffee snob, I like the taste of good hot coffee in the morning.
