Great breakfasts, everyone! I fully expected someone to say leftover pizza.

Today I had the same cereal—Fiber One Honey Clusters. And 2 cups of water, and a cup of water. Yum.

See ya in the morning!

Bree

Bree, you have your cereal with water?  If so, wow, you are hard core.

This morning I had a small handful of almonds, cantalope, and a mug of green tea.  I eat a variety of breakfests though: whole wheat toast with peanut butter, veggie omlettes (my favorite when I have the time), Kashi cereals with fruit and milk, oatmeal with raisens, and (often) a cheesestick and a piece of fruit if I’m on the go.

Today, I had before I went out for my morning run I had a cup of greentee, I always drink tee the first thing in the morning, then I had a ½ Banana and a ½ cup of orange juice.
Then when I got back I make oatmeal porridge, that I eat with, (the other) half of the banana and soymilk, pumpkin seeds(?), sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, and a tsp. of raspberriejam. Nice!

I have been keeping my breakfasts very carb light since my blood sugar has been high in the mornings lately. Today I had a piece of whole wheat toast with light cream cheese and a slice of low salt/lean ham. AND COFFEE with Splenda only!!!!!! I’m starving right now!

I’m starving right now!

What you described was about 120 calories. I’m not sure what your caloric requirements are, but that sounds pretty low to me.

I had the same breakfast as yesterday due to time constraints, plus it’s quick and easy.

I’d love to eat something now but my sugar level hasn’t dropped. If I eat right now, it will sky rocket!

I reworded my post. wink

I understand the “challenges” involved with blood sugars. Insulin dependent diabetic?

No I’m not insulin dependent. I’ve been doing a very good job with controlling my glucose levels with diet and exercise, except for now. All of a sudden everything is out of wack and I have no idea why. I have an appointment with my Doc. next week. I know that 120 calories is like nothing but I have to be careful. Hopefully my levels will have mellowed out so that I can eat some lunch! I’m going to eat my left foot in a minute......  confused

I hear ya, pookabead!  I’m diabetic as well, and I lost my gluscose meter!  I know I’m hurting myself, I’m just sure of it.

If your calorie intake drops, try eating lots of protein.  That will help.  A hard boiled egg or two might be good for breakfast.  A protein shake or bar.  Those can be upwards of 200 - 300 calories, and have very low carbs.  Beef Jerky is another idea.  Chicken breast is AWESOME!

But, then again, you know all of this.  So, good luck at the doctor’s.  I hope it works well for you!

Bree, you have your cereal with water?  If so, wow, you are hard core.

No way, I use 2% milk. I use it in my cereal, and my coffee.

Today I had a green apple, around an ounce of mixed nuts, light and fit Dannon Smoothie, and a starbucks frapuccino. I didn’t have time to make coffee, so I grabbed one of those.

It looks like there are a lot of healthy breakfasts here.  Thanks for the ideas.

I start with a pot of coffee that lasts all morning.  I get vanilla nut flavored beans and grind them fresh each morning, then add some skim milk, no sugar.  My rule is no coffee after noon.  About an hour after I get up, I have my real breakfast - fruit and cereal.  I can’t quite face eating first thing in the morning.

I’ve been getting Great Grains and adding some raisins, fresh fruit, and a small amount of 1% milk.  I can’t wait for my blackberries out back to ripen.  The cereal is a little higher in calories than some, but I find that I can eat less and still be satisfied.

1 Cup of coffee
1 cup of Quaker Oat squares
1/2cup of diced pears

Eating breakfast is really a challenge for me, takes concentration, since I seem to not be hungry in the mornings until like 11am!!!  But I force myself to eat it.

Julie, I really wish that I wasn’t hungry until 11.  My most hungry times every day at work are right before my 10 am snack and right before lunch.  These are the times I really have to push through to stay on track!
