In the meantime, I will put in a plug for my very favorite healthy eating magazine/website - Eating Well - http://www.eatingwell.com.

There are a lot of good recipes on the website as well.  Their cookbook, Healthy in a Hurry, has been my favorite cookbook ever since I bought it.

What I love about their recipes is that they use real ingredients - none of that fakey, diet stuff - and yet the recipes are low in fat, high in fiber, and generally all around good for you.  If a teaspoon of real butter is what is necessary to really make the recipe great, they’ll use a teaspoon of butter and not try to foist some horrible diet margarine off on you.  shut eye

I’m off to make out my grocery list for next week!

Judy

I have been looking through old threads and found this one from Judy

I will add others as I find them.  Please feel free to post your favorite websites for healthy recipes.

I like allrecipes.com.

It has recipes for all kinds of food, not just healthy, but I like to use it for inspiration and ideas. It offers nutritional info for all of the recipes so I can alter the recipes if I need to make them healthier. Plus there are tons of reviews and ratings for each, which are very useful. It’s the most complete and useful recipe site I’ve found.

Another one I use Epicurious.  It has recipes from Gourmet, Bon Appetit, and Self as well as a couple of other magazines.  I like the advanced recipe search function because you can put in the particular ingredients you want to use (like “shellfish” and “tomatoes") and it will bring up recipes that use those ingredients.

Not all the recipes are particularly “healthy” but I’ve found quite a few there that I use regularly.

Hmmmmm.  I’m thinking of one recipe in particular.  Go on there and search for “Shrimp with Orzo” or something to that effect.  It’s fantastic (and easy to prepare, too)!!  grin
