Greetings from Brockville, ON, “City of the 1000 Islands”.
Julie! I was so pleased that you mentioned the 1000 Islands Parkway as a great Canadian spot for exercise. For those of you who don’t know, the parkway runs from Gananoque, ON almost all the way to Brockville, ON. (If anyone would like to do the math, the route is 30 min. by car at 80 km/h. So base you biking or hiking speed on that if you’d like to plan a journey.)
My favourite part of the trip down the parkway is that you can stop for a break at the beaches at Brown’s Bay and the national park, and you can actually see the islands from the road!
I was born in Longueuil but always lived in Montreal. I left when I was 14, in 2001, and i’m now living in the south-west of France.
for the past five months i’ve been studying in Spain, Andalousia, and before that I was 4 months in Dublin. my next move is definetly to come back to canada (in september) and live there for at least a year
Oh my goodness...We finally goit Fiber 1 bars up here in Canada! After years of reading how tasty they are on here I finally got to try one. They are pretty good!
I am Canadian. I presently reside in Calgary, but back home on the ranch, we have 600 head of cattle and 350 head of buffalo. As you might imagine, I eat red meat. Born and raised in Hardisty, you may remember it from “The Week the Women Went” this winter on CBC. I have been on all three coasts, and every province and teritory in between, but my heart will always lie in Alberta. From the deck of my house, I can see the actual office building that I work in downtown Calgary. Turn to the left and you can see the rockies. From my doorstep to Kananaskis Village is just over an hour drive, so is Banff. That includes a stop for gas and Timmies.
I am in Sardis, BC at the foothills of the rockies. I grew up just outside of Winnipeg, MB though. I am SOO ready for the summer, the sun, and all the outdoor activities that come with it!! Also, I am grateful to have Scott’s message coming through on my runs. I am a bit of a social person, and it totally helps to feel like someone is there chatting to me while i am out there hitting the trails.
Oh...and i was reading the posts about perogies and Alberta steak (YUM) I will bring the Salmon And some BC fresh fruit....
Welcome to both our new Canuks! We’re so happy to have you, and to see our numbers growing. Just wait: one day we’re gonna take over the world! (But, shhh.... we don’t want anyone to know about it yet, eh?)
I leave in the Ottawa area (National Capital). I am originally from Quebec City, but I prefer the Ottawa area. It is nice to see so many Canadians on this site.
