Greetings,
I would love to know about how many folks we have interested in coming August 11. The Summer is crazy already and if I will be the only one driving down to crissy field, although it would be nice there, but we could always pick another date.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO August 11 at 10:00am?
I can map out a 5 mile walk/run to include a walk/run across the bridge and then picnic in the Presidio area.
I am going through the city this weekend and will fiqure out a parking place to meet.
Does this sound OK to everyone?
Hope you guys are all doing great.
Laura

Hi all,

Okay, I’m kind of “back” with the living since being out with a back problem for a couple of weeks, so I’m catching up on the thread - sounds like the gathering is coming together nicely!  I’m still not sure if we’re leaving for a trip to San Diego on the 11th or the 13th - I’ll let you know if I’m able to join you - sounds like fun!!!

Have a great weekend,

Laura -

I’ve been off line for a few days, but this is on my schedule.  I think we’re picking up M on the way.

Sounds like a nice time!

I’ll be driving to Crissy Field from Lafayette (Near Walnut Creek).  I can’t run, but would love to walk over the bridge.  I’ve been under it a lot, and driven over, but never walked it.  I’m looking forward to meeting everyone.

I’ll be coming with Ada.  My brother may come too.  I would like to walk the bridge too.

Hey Skyler, Here’s a copy of the post from July 30. See you soon. Laura

Greetings to all of you wonderful MTMer’s,
I am still planning on doing a Golden Gate Bridge outing next Sat., August 11 at 10:00am. My plan is meet anyone who wants to do this at the Warming Hut/West Bluff Picnic Area parking lot at Chrissy Field
http://www.parksconservancy.org/our_work/crissy/
I will put an MTM sign in the window of my car. Afterward if you want to do a picnic there are picnic tables near the parking area.

You never know what kind of weather we will have so layer your clothing.
I think my husband will be bringing his bike and doing a ride. He is not much of a walker or runner so if anyone is interested in riding across the bridge you can do that too. Please note; Bike riders have to go across on the west side of the bridge, walkers on the east.

I know that a lot of you live a good distance away. I do too. So if there is no response from anyone out there in MTM land, I am prepared to do this another time. Just chime in if this interests you..
Best to you all.
Laura

Obviously I JUST missed your first “outing”. Dang it.  But I’m on Treasure Island and am always looking for a work-out buddy to have to answer to and to make it a social outing.  Anyone close enough to make it a weekly thing?
Thanks, Newbie Karen

Hi Karen,
I am not close enough darn it. It would be cool to have a workout partner in the wine country but the city is a little to far away for me. However, it seems that a lot of folks were sorry to have missed the GG Bridge event so definitely another one will happen - and will be posted on the site.
Sorry to have missed meeting you.

I missed it too, I had to take my mom to the airport that morning.

I think the weekly might be a bit too much, but a monthly meeting at different Bay Area locations for different activities would be fun.

I’m not close enough for a weekly (even monthly meeting), but it was sure nice to get together this past month.

I’ll just watch for the next one and if it works with my calendar, you guys will see me.

Welcome Karen,

My Dad was in the navy and was stationed on Treasure Island his last two years in the service, so I think it is very cool that you live there.

I feel extremely fortunate that the view I have (downtown San Francisco, the bay the surrounding hills) are my daily sights during our two walks around the island. Believe it or not, even the most beautiful of sights can become boring after a year and a half however.  And having a buddy would be so motivating....just keeping this out there periodically as you never know who will be joining that’s close.
And weekly I can jont on over to Pleasanton or Napa for a different view of scenery just give me the word, of course Sadie (mini-dauchshund) has to be invited along as well.

Hi Northern California MTMers!

Just to let you know, Priscilla and I will be meeting for a walk around Lake Chabot this Friday, September 7, at 8:30 a.m., at the Marina’s snack bar.  If any of you would like to join us, you’re more than welcome!

I’ll be wearing a white jacket and white US Open tennis cap.

Take care, hope you’re all having a great week,

If you can join us, it’s a great place for a light hike.  We’ll be doing this again in the future, so if you’re interested, please reply and we’ll figure out a schedule for Friday morning walks.

Marcy and I met at Lake Chabot for a nice morning walk. I think it was about 1 1/2 hours, 3 1/2 mile, up and down hill.  Not too strenuous, but a good long slow burn.  Really fun to meet a fellow MTMer live and find out how many other interests we have in common.  See our picture attached.  We had a great time and definitely plan to do this again.  We’ll post possible dates and time to try to find other locals who want to join us.

Priscilla - you look like you’ve lost weight and toned since we met last spring.  Wow!!!!

Actually, you both look great, but I don’t have as good of a before image of Marcy.

I hope I can make some of the other walks.  My training this morning was good, but a walk would have been better.

Hi Priscilla,

Thanks for posting those pictures!  I had a great time walking with you. You’re a fantastic person.  The lake was so calm and peaceful, and the weather was perfect for a L.S.B.!

I hope others can join us for some future walks - thanks for checking in Paula and M!

Have a wonderful weekend,
