So funny that I found a bunch more Rage Against the Machine fans!!!!  I love Renegades of Funk especially lately.  About 2 years ago I listened to the Battle of LA as my workout music for about 6 mos.

My power songs on the elliptical:

Mr. Brightside
The Killers

Somebody Told Me
The Killers

Body Movin’
Beastie Boys

My power songs on the treadmill:

Sandstorm
DaRude

Breathe
Prodigy

Galvanize
Chemical Brothers

I need really fast music.  And when I’m walking, I want something I can walk to the rhythm of.  It’s so tough to find songs that I can walk to at 4.5 mph!!

Lately, it’s been Red Hot Chili Peppers - Snow......it’s a song I heard in spin class a while ago, and it triggers something inside me to push myself.....especially on the chorus!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

This is a great thread.  I thought I would add my 2 cents.

On my Nordic track or while walking I love listening to:

Waiting
Green Day
From the Warning CD
It inspires me and has a great beat.
“I’ve been Waiting a lifetime for this moment to come.  I’m destined for anything at all”

High School Never Ends
Bowling For Soup
The Great Burrito Extortion Case
Because it makes me giggle even when I’m tired and sweating like a pig!

E Pro
Beck
Guero
That guitar!  Gets me groovin’

Twisted Transistor & Liar
Korn
See you on the other side
ANGRY Music angry !!! (Makes me work harder and speed up)

Plus AC/DC, Nazereth, Rush, The Cult, Nirvana, Joan Jett, Scorpions, Gun’s & Roses, Collective Soul, and other 80’s and early 90’s Rock bands because they remind of good times going out dancing in High School and College.

Mannish Boy - Muddy Waters. Why? Because Muddy kicked booty, that’s why! Plus, everytime I hear it, I picture that black ‘67 Camaro in “Better Off Dead”. For those that don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s the song AND the car.

I noticed that some of you have a phrase above your picture that says “movin’ for life.” Mine just says “member.” What does that mean?  I’m a premium member.

How about another one ....

“Turn It On Again” by Genesis

I really like the retro stuff.  Can’t really identify with the new stuff on the radio.

I’m on a Queen kick of late, especially the soundtrack from Highlander. Princes of the Universe and One Vision gets the blood pumping!

I’ve been picking up the pace lately so I need fast tempos. My last power song was:

Shame, Shame, Shame
Aerosmith-Honkin On Bobo
Rock
A solid boogie shuffle with a grovin’ piano, drum, bass breakdown before the last chorus.

But my need for speed has caused me to chance to:

Metal Thrashing Mad
Anthrax-Greater of Two Evils
Thrash
What may be the greatest Judas Priest song not written or performed by Judas Priest.
