Someday, before I die I’m gonna see a live Stanley Cup game in Canada. It’s definately on the list.

Is is just me or does Canada have the best national anthem? Do all Canadians know the words?

Kevin, It looks like we won’t be seeing you here in Toronto for a while...LOL! The anthem has been drilled in our brains - I remember every morning in school we had to sing it (there’s a version with both English and French mixed in it).

Honesty thanks guys. Day 2 is here and I’m getting ready for it. Will post later.

Day 2

It was a beautiful day here in Toronto, so I decided to take a nice bike ride down to the local trails. I originally wanted to ride down to the lake, but I had a lot more things to do here (and that trip would have been more than a couple hours long). So I went on Culham trail for about an hour and a half.

It’s kinda sad though - I only saw a few people on that trail over an hour and a half span. People just dont know it’s there...or they are all couped up in the mall spending their money.

I’ve attached a few photos with this post and you can look here for more images from today.

Day 2 is in the can.

Edit: I also have a short / boring video from a rest stop on one of the bridges here.

Yeah it was awesome, Gina!

I found an interesting article while I was searching the web.  Apparently almonds are really beneficial, helps keeps your appetite in check among other things. There’s a recipie that is a popcorn subsitiution.

---> Grab a handful of almonds and spread them on a cooking sheet. Spray them with non-stick cooking spray and bake them at 400ºF for 5-10 minutes. When they’re done sprinkle them with a brown sugar and cinnamon mix.

I just tried it and its very good.

You can find the link here.

...just a thought.

-Dave

Hey Dave… welcome to the challenge!! (Remember me?) LOL

The most beautiful spot I have ever seen in my lifetime was in a Provincial Park about two hours north of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. It was a walking trail with a river and many waterfalls… which you can actually get up really close and stand on rocks right at the base of the waterfall.

Also, I am a huge music fan and there have been some recent great bands coming out of Canada… especially the Arcade Fire (out of Montreal) and The New Pornographers (out of Vancouver). Before that… if you asked me about Canadian bands… I would think of Loverboy, April Wine, and REO Speedwagon. They are not exactly the height of music artistry!! LOL

Actually, I love Rush also… a truly great Canadian rock band!

Thanks! I havent been that far north yet… but I will. I heard it’s beautiful.

About the music… CBC Radio 3 podcasts are awesome for Canadian content, and are quite entertaining. And yes, those bands. I actually worked on a few things for the band “Glass Tiger”.

Nope...but that was a very colourful image that came to mind.
