Hi guys.  I may have mentioned before that when I’m in my residence, I don’t own a scale, and I’ve been tracking myself on belt buckle notches.  In the last five weeks I’ve gone from “really straining at notch #4” to “notch #4 is almost too big and it might be time to start thinking about notch #5.”

I’m home for reading week, however, and decided to get a bit more numeric in my judgement.  So I stepped on my mom’s bathroom scale.  Whereas in January I was about 133 (and in September I was about 136), I’m now a proud 127!  I’m below 130 for the first time in about 4 years!  Which also puts me below a BMI of 25 for the first time in 4 year (I’m 5’0").

So… yay!  All this without putting in too much gym time, just watching what I eat, taking lots of walks, and going up lots of stairs.

Can you imagine how awesome it’ll be once I start putting in some strength training into that?  (As soon as this damned cold decides to go away… promise!)

Woo hoo!

Woo Hoo right back at ya!  Good job Julie!

And I didn’t know you were 5’0”.  You look taller in your picture.  smile

Uh… Scott, you know that picture’s only my face, right? *grin*

Actually, for a comparison of how truly short I am, one of my friends is the tallest guy on the Volleyball team at University of Toronto.  There’s a picture of us standing together.  We’re thinking that if they ever filmed another Lord of the Rings movie, they could just use us and then they wouldn’t need to pay for the special effects to make the hobbits look short.

For a bit of a more balanced height picture, here’s another one.  It was taken almost exactly a year ago when I was at a medieval reenactment event.  The guy in the photo is one of my mentors.

With a little luck, I’ll soon be getting picture that were taken less than a month ago, so that I can have a clear record of my progression.

See, NOW you know how short I am. *grin*

And thanks for the pat on the back.

Congrats on the hard work! Your success is an inspiration to all of us. Keep up the great work - and think of how buff you’ll look when you start lifting those dumb bells! Reminds me of that old saying “Thin feels better than food tastes...” or something like that.
