Since Mid-January I’ve lost 16 pounds. I didn’t start my 100 Day Challenge until March 26th. Since March 26th I lost 4 on the Challenge but regained one because of my visiting aunt. The 16 includes the 4 lost here. Should I stick with the 4 as the official start number or work with the 16? You tell me. I don’t care as long as I keep losing.
If you don’t care, we don’t care either. It’s just a number to help measure your progress. What you record doesn’t change where you were and when you were there. No matter how you look at it, you’re doing great.
Emmi… I started my new regiment in Sept ‘06 but didn’t join the MTM forum until January and the 100 Days Challenge until… um… two days ago. However, I am still citing my total overall weight loss in my statistics.
I definitely think that you should cite your overall weight loss as well… ultimately, the bottom line is that you are getting healthy and fit and we’d love to hear about your OVERALL progress regardless of whether or not it was attained while in MTM Land or during the challenge.
I agree, you should do what motivates you. If you want to cite your total loss for the year, go for it! We are here to support and encourage, not audit people’s numbers You are doing a great job!!
What’s in Emmi’s Head Today?
I see this everytime I go to the gym and I have to laugh because I am puzzled. We have 8 TVs that you can watch and listen to while you workout. Each piece of equipment has a hookup for a headset and a switch so that you can hear the TV that you want. (I listen to my iPod and never the TV unless the Cavs or Indians are playing.) This is what cracks me up: Someone always has the Food Network on! Here we are sweating off calories being subjected to cream sauces, butter, huge steaks, decadent desserts, everything that we really need to cut wayyyyy back on or not eat at all. Why are they torturing themselves and me like this? I bet that when they leave the gym, they go home and gorge! Don’t get me wrong, here. I love Rachel Ray, Sandra Lee, Emiril and Paula Deen. Those guys rule and I would love to have their jobs but why do I have to see them when I am exercising? I don’t get it so I just laugh and try to focus on a spot on the wall. Does this ever happen to you at your gym?
Weird. I’ve seen stuff like TLC’s What Not To Wear on and USA, but not FN. Watching WN2W, is great while working out though you get good tips for buying new clothes when your current ones are too big.
Damn straight Emmi… there ain’t no way the Food Network is turned on during my workouts. If anything, I am watching a sporting activity or a show focused on exercise or weight loss to motivate me. I always seem to get torchured by the Outback Steakhouse commercials!!
When I go to the gym in the morning there always hockey highlights on, oh thats right I live in montreal! I am not a hockey fan( i shouldn’t say that to loud in this town it’ll get you killed!),The only sport I like watching is Mixed Martial Arts and if I’m lucky they’ll have it on between pro curling and dachshund racing. Like you Emmi I’d Rather listen to my toons.
Well I’m glad you guys kissed and made up. I thought I was going to have to grab my referee’s cap, whistle and send you to your respective penalty boxes!
What’s inside Emmi’s Head Today?
Well I am feeling pretty happy today. It’s Friday and I dropped another 2 pounds!!!! One is from the one gained back with my Aunt’s visit and the other from the excess. WoooHooo!!!!!!! Hey Julie, Where did that pound of fat go??? Just kidding, please don’t answer that. I don’t want a bunch of cr#p circulating in my journal! Anyway, I am very elated.
It’s Friday and I am planning my weekend. Tonight I am meeting a very good friend of mine for dinner. She’s taking me out to dinner at a very posh sushi restaraunt for a very belated birthday dinner. (My Bday was Dec. 27) I love sushi. MMMMMMMMMMmmmmm is almost better than ellipticrack! lol… Saturday is my Father’s 73rd Bday. We are gathering at my parents home in the afternoon for a cookout. Cleveland is going to have a beautiful, mild weekend. I heard the buzzing of lawnmowers this morning. Spring has arrived at last! After my Dad’s party my BF and I are going to go to the Eagles Lodge to see about winning the $4,000 drawing. It’s been a long time since someone won the pot and it better be me. I will have to work on not over-indulging on the beer but after last weekend’s escapades I think I got it under control. Sunday I hope the BF and I go for a long bicycle ride in the morning followed by a ride on his Harley. I love riding on the back of his hog. I love the wind in my hair and the rumbling from below. Vrrrrrrrooooommmmmmmm. It is a fabulos rush.
Speaking of the BF, things have been going ......ok. This past week I continued going to the gym and I stopped my night-time check-in phone calls completely. He’s been calling me like crazy. He’s worried he’s losing me. It’s working.........
Cool… have a great weekend, Emmi. Good to hear the scale is budging!
Just remember when you are drinking to ask Scott’s question “How do I want to feel?” so you know to stop when it gets to a point where more drinking will make you feel miserable in the morning. (I’ll remember to do the same.)
Also, let us know if the BF buys you something!
Hmmm… sushi… I have always wanted to try sushi. (The ole wife has narrow horizons when it comes to food… she doesn’t eat any type of oriental food.)
