It’s all good C/H, no biggie. I hope you don’t mind, I gave your e-mail adress to my team of high priced lawyers, the need to talk to to you LOL  Just kidding.

Uh huh… I just read the ‘cease and desist’ order that was just couriered to me. LOL

I finally got to try out the Arc Trainer.

so, what is an “Arc Trainer”?  I guess I should google it.

It sounds like a great workout though.

You’re doing great!!!!!!!!

Emmi,
Sounds like your doing great, I hope you don`t have the same problem I have when I get off the ellipticrack machine. I am litterally drenched, I loose three pounds in water weight. For fun one time I weighed my t-shirt after a workout, it weighed 1 pound. They have to mop up after I`m done. There is a picture of me after a workout in my 100 day thread.

I am glad that I am not the only one who can fill an entire pool with my own sweat after a workout on the ellipticrack machine!! I’ll wear a T-shirt and have a towel around my neck and BOTH the T-shirt and towel are saturated with sweat after 30 minutes.

My record for calories burned on the ellipticrack is 817 calories in 45 minutes.

It is my understanding that females don’t sweat as much as males do… so I would be surprised if Emmi had the same problem that you and I have, shawn! cool smile

C/H,
women don’t “sweat”, they “perspire”.

I’m only gone a couple days and look what I miss!

Yes, I “glow”.  wink (Thanks Scott)
Actually I do perspire quite a bit on the ellipticrack machine and have been known to drench a towel or two. As far as how many pounds, I don’t know. I drink water while I work out so I’m just putting the water back in as fast as it sweats out. It probably evens out.

Nice pictures Shawn. Are you flirting with me? What would your girlfriend think?  kiss

Walkinrow, the Arc Trainer is a type of ellipticrack machine but your legs go more in an up and down motion. I think it makes your body work harder. I find I burn more calories on the Arc Trainer than on the Ellipticrack in the same amount of time.

Imagine how PO’d I was this morning at my weekly weigh-in. The scale showed and increase in one pound. All my clothes fit better and people are noticing that I am shrinking yet the scale begs to differ. It’s got to be water. I’m going to have a visit from Auntie Flo in two days. I’ll be curious to see what the scale says the day after she visits. You guys are so lucky you don’t have to deal with this.

APRIL 13 DAY 19
Pedometer reading 10,367 steps
7.8 Miles
I went to the gym after work. I used the weight machines for 40 minutes. 2 of the machines were out of order. I followed that with 20 minutes on the Arc Trainer and burned 323 calories. I then moved on to the elliptical for 40 minutes and did a slow burn for 40 minutes and burned 397 calories. Total calories burned: 720. Total gym time: 1 Hr. 40 minutes.

APRIL 14 DAY 20
Pedometer reading: 15,775
11.8 miles
GYM:
Arc Trainer 20 Minutes. Burned 319 Calories
Elliptical 31 Minutes. Burned 412 Calories.
Total calories Burned: 731
Gym time: 51 minutes.
I was pretty tired Saturday. This was my 6th day in a row. All my muscles felt tired so I cut my time shorter than usual. It was Girls Gone Wild on Saturday night. I went dancing with my girl friends and worked up a sweat then too. So, who knows how many calories I totally burned? All I know is is that I passed right out when I got dropped off at home.

APRIL 15 DAY 21
REST DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well deserved and much needed. Took a 3 hour nap too.

APRIL 16 DAY 22
Will report tomorrow. I’m going to the gym after work. I am starting the Couch to 5K program this week. I’ll keep you cats posted.

Can I just say that you are right about Auntie Flo, two weeks before she arrives for me I get the bad case of munchies....but since I started the challenge, I haven’t had a problem with it luckily.  Way to go on your weekend activity, you been doing really really good!!! Are you having an easier time saying no to the empty calories in drinks during your nights out?  And by the way, I am jealous about your nap the other day......oh how I miss those.

Go ahead, flirt away! I love it! And we’re on for the cook-off. Cool beans! So how will this work with me being in chilly Cleveland, OH and you up in chilly Montreal? Is your passport up to date? You have a name for your knife? That is so great! I just call mine a “ka-niff-ee” (emmi-phonetics for knife) smile

My wife weighs herself several times a week and I see how the Monthly Bill causes weight fluctuations. Yes… this is one reason I am lucky to be a dude!

Yes, “Monthly Bill”.. that’s a new one for me too. Never heard it put quite that way but it works - expected and unpleasant.

APRIL 16 DAY 22
All in all I had a good day. I felt strong after a day of rest. I started my Couch to 5K today. I really thought I was going to die but I pleasantly surprised myself and breezed through the week 1 program on the first day! I really didn’t think I would be able to run steady but I did!!!! BTW: I was positively “glowing” my butt off when I was done! WooHoo!! Anyhow, I was on the treadmill for a total of 41 minutes (including the 5k program) I burned 323 calories. I really amazed myself today. After that I went on my ellipticrack machine for 35 minutes and did a cardio setting and burned an additional 425 calories. Total calories burned = 748. Scale is still steady. MF-er!

Today I will hit the gym after work for a weight session and either a long cardio or slow burn. I don’t know yet. It depends on how I feel.
Ciao!

Go Emmi!

Great job on jumping from the treadmill to the ellipticrack! When I do the ellipticrack… I have to do that FIRST. If I do the treadmill or the bike ride first, I find that I struggle mightily on the ellipticrack.

You know the saying about “Beer before wine and you’ll do fine… wine before beer, oh dear, oh dear!” Same thing about the ellipticrack and other activities! cheese

Thanks Julie. And I’ve thought about that. We are so close to each other after all....

I wanted to post a couple pictures of me from this past January. I went down to Columbia, South America with my father to visit his side of the family. I am 16 pounds heavier in these pictures. I consider this “before”. I don’t have any current pictures yet. I am working on it.

Third pic is of me and Carlos, our bodyguard in Bogota, Columbia at the only Harley Davidson shop in the country. The owner, Chucho, not pictured, gave my father and me a grand tour of his store and repair shop. The second photo is of my father, my cousin Billy and me at a “Aisan” style restaurant. I had Columbian Dim Sum. It was different, to say the least. We are enjoying some Tequillia. The first photo is at the Museum of Gold with my father and Billy. As you see I have a way to go, but it is going. I hope you like the pics.
