Boot Camp 45 minute workout. Our coach took us outside for our workout today. Jogged to the corner, then jump squats. Jogged to the next corner, then push ups. Jogged to the corner, then walking lunges. Etc., all the way down the street. More squats, tricep dips, back kicks, skiping, then jogging alternating with other exercises all the way back. Great workout.
I’m glad things are going well for you and it sounds like you’ve healed. How’s your yard doing?
Yard plans are finalized. We start this Tuesday!!! I will have much less lawn to decrease water usage and a sprinkler irrigation system. The only yardio this weekend will be to ID plants that will be keepers and those that will have to go. In the last month, I had my trees and shrubs pruned back so no pruning will need to be done while my new plants are getting established. This has been in the planning phase for over a year, so really excited to be proceeding with the actual landscaping.
Boot Camp this morning at a local high school track. Jogged around a few times, drills on the foot ball field including some 50 yard sprints, walked up and down the steps on the bleachers 8 x, more jogging. Another tough workout. Plan to go for a 5 mile hike this afternoon. Update later.
Went on an afternoon hike in Redwood Park with a local Meet-Up group. 9 people on a 3 hour walk in the redwoods. Actually a bit more strenuous than I bargained for as the second half of the hike was on the French Trail, quite steep for long sections. I have a good pair of hiking boots and good socks and got a hiking stick to help me since I knew there were some steep, rocky areas. I figured I’d be OK because I’ve been doing a fair amount of walking and knew I could go 5 miles. About the last 45 minute, I was really tired, but kept going. Afterwards when about half the group were deciding to go for pizza and beer, I decided to go home. I took a nap and some Advil. Felt sore and stiff when I woke up, but this morning, just some soreness in my calves, so not too bad. I’ll take it easy today, do some stretching, then back to Boot Camp tomorrow. Hoping to do more walks with either this group or another that takes walks in San Francisco on Saturday mornings.
Sunday Day 143 Rest Day
Monday Day 144 Boot Camp again - another great workout 45 minutes interval training. Followed up with 10 minutes treadmill and 20 minutes elliptical.
Your hike sounded quite strenuous. And what a good choice skipping the pizza and beer.
What kinds of new plants are you putting in? Did they actually get started this week? We dug out two bushes this week and I ordered a weigelia to replace one of them. I still have lots to do and of course here the clock is ticking as winter approaches.
Boot Camp on the Cascade Stairs. Up and down stairs for about a half hour then up and down the hill a few times. Tough workout. Later this morning I did about 2 hours of yardio - transplanted some petunias and pruned some shrubs. Rested for awhile and heading to my sisters to wash my truck and go swimming over her house.
Yow! Those stairs look formidable. More power to you!
They are!!! The first time I went to the Cascade Steps I thought I would die. This time, just really tough, but doable.
Day 152 Monday
Boot camp - three times around a circuit with lunges (12 #wts), bosu squats, stationary bike, leg press, jump rope, treadmill 5.2 m/h. This was followed by a strenuous ab workout.
We’re matched for treadmill speeds! Maybe a run together if we ever meet?
Bree
Hope I didn’t give the wrong impression. I run at 5.2 for intervals of 40 seconds at a time. My preferred speed would be closer to 3.8- 4.0 if I need to go for extended periods of time.
Congratulations on the 10#. That’s a big accomplishment. If I could lose 10 pounds, I’d be at maintenance. . . . Of course I guess I’ve been at maintenance for the past 6 months . . . just not at my goal.
Attended my Thursday Boot Camp as usual. Skipped the Saturday class to attend an Intro to Sailing class and sailed in SF Bay for 2 hours. Absolutely loved the class and signed up to take Basic Keelboat lessons starting in two weeks. Going sailing again today with a group from the sailing club. Before my class I met a group a women who sail together the first Saturday of each month. Some members of that group encouraged me to join them during their next sail. There seem to be a lot of opportunities to meet people and sail through this club. I’ll probably join the club after taking lessons and have a better feel for how I like sailing.
You look like you were really having a good time with the sailing. It’s something I’ve wanted to try but I’m spread thin enough already. The nearest reasonable sailing place to us is Cayuga Lake, one of the Finger Lakes.
BOOT CAMP after work 45 mintues - Alternated between intervals of crunches with 6# medicine ball, Kettelbells 8#, squats with 15# wts, stationary bike, leg extensions, leg press. Three sets then some running, some lunges, then back to the intervals. More running, then crunches. Finally some stretching. Tough workout, but not as bad as Monday.
