Yesterday would have been day 100 of my second 100 day challenge if I hadn’t stopped at Day75. Around the end of July I lost my click, my motivation left me, I struggled and did some fake it ‘til you make it but after August 6th I haven’t done any formal exercise.

It took me a while to figure it out but I discovered what my problem was. Since joining MTM I had been exercising 6 days a week for at least an hour, plus spending a lot of time at the forum posting and reading everyone else’s stories. I ended up neglecting a lot of other things, like projects that needed to be done around the house and a bunch of other little nagging things that I kept telling myself I needed to get done.

Well, then Daryl came along and posted about ‘The List’. Basically his list of all the nagging things that had been cluttering his life. That really ‘clicked’ with me, so I sat down and made my own list and was surprised at how long it was. So I began tackling it and as each item was crossed off I felt better. I decided to concentrate on the list for the rest of the month.
http://www.motivationtomove.com/forums/viewthread/2536/

So now that I have crossed off over half the items on the list, including a couple big ones I am ready to get back to exercise.

But this time I am going to do things a little differently. That is why I started a new thread. I am going to have more balance by decreasing the number of days I exercise so I have more time in the week to get other things done.

These are my plans for the next 100 days

Exercise 4-5 days a week for 40 minutes and work on intensifying the workouts.
Cross off a least one item a week from my List.
Get things done right away as they come up so they don’t end up on my List.
Eat healthy balanced meals

My goal is to get out of the 200’s by then end of the 100 days.

The good news is that I don’t have to change my signature. During my break from exercise I have maintained my weight.

Great Goals Eileen…

We’re all behind you!

remember.... this is just part of the journey...each and every 100 days makes up our lives… there will be ups and downs, but in the end, we are better for putting out the effort

looking forward to hearing about your journey!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

I love how you took a step back, decided what your priorities are, and changed your plan to make it mirror those. That is a really hard thing to do.

And way to go on maintaining! WOOHOO!!!

Thanks Tom and Bree!  I’m sure the next hundred days are going to be great.

Day 1
50 minutes of walking - I walked to the mall and back and bought myself a new outfit while I was there.
20 minutes of lawn mowing.

Eileen...I think the list is a wonderful idea...yeah to Daryl too. I have many little projects that I see around the house that nag at me too. I am off to work right now but I will sit down and do my list tomorrow morning with my regular homework. Today I did my 55 minutes of LSB, listened to my SMSM playlist while doing it. The music sure does carry me on. I told myself I only had to do 30 minutes a day but have done 55 to 60 every time. Maybe that’s the trick going in with less expectation and coming out feeling better about it. I am a pedometer person and I do at least 10,000 steps a day. I’m going to work an 8 hour shift on the floor, running around and I already have 7100 steps on the readout. Off to a good start and so are you!

I like how you set up your goals and I know you will be out of the 200’s in no time.

Denise cool smile

Thanks Suzzy.  I don’t know about any hurricane coming.  If it is the remnants of Gustav then it will be nothing by the time it reaches us.

Day 2 : Day off.  Got my laundry done, cooked ahead some meals for the week, did some cleaning.

Day 3 : Went to the gym for the first time in a while. Backed down about 10 pounds from where I had left off on the weights but pushed myself.  I did as many reps as I could then did a couple more.

Day 4 : Dinner with Mom
Day 5 : I was still sore from Wednesday’s workout plus had a headache on top of that so just relaxed.
Day 6 : Walk, tackled the hill closest to my house.  This time I went up the side where the slope is less steep but longer.  Next time I’m going up the steeper side.

Thanks Bree and Denise.  Mt Monadnock here I come!

Bree, we had swiss steak with noodles and some broccoli.  It is always great to eat Mom’s cooking.

Today I took a walk, didn’t do the hill as I wasn’t sure if I would have enough time as I walked while my banana bread was baking(had some very brown bananas to use up, I’m going to share it with my mother)
But I did walk with more intensity than usual.  Since I am exercising less often than I used to I trying to get the most our of each session.

Here I thought Hannah was going to come knocking on your door.  Glad to see I was wrong.  (worry wart at heart)

Your tackling Mountains! Now that would be amazing to consider, or just see! To get a chance to climb one, I think I would die; Literally!!! So glad to see that your staying busy, baking and taking care of yourself, and those you love.  I did the same with some zucchinni’s and my grandbabies loved every yummy bite.

Make it your own Lady, and remember its the littlest things that mean the most.

Keep it fun.

Hey Eileen - How’s it been going?  You’ve been MIA for a while now.

I got to wondering how you are doing and if you’ve gotten closer to the 100’s.  I have just a few more pounds to go.  Don’t let me beat you.

Hope all is well,
Take care
