ohh Bree..good news about Gramma!  (and bad too, but more goodder than badder!)

I am amazed that people buy work shoes that dont support (im surprised by you).... Everyone figures if i work out, i need support… but when they go to work, that same principle changes?

go out and buy another good pair.. WE NEED YOU AT THE FESTIVAL OF RACES!

My prayers are with your mom, and you.... that her pain is less, and she can be with all of us for a little longer…

I know what you mean about schedules… mine has been very messed up lately… I need to run more… and I WILL, but it has not been easy!

Keep it up Bree… most of all .. keep those kids active (as I know you do!)

thanks for being such a great force on MTM!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

Bree, I’m always impressed with all the things you hold together in your life, and keep moving besides. No lapse on those laps, girlfriend! smile Nice suit.

And thanks for the encouragement. smile

I had support inserts in my old work shoes, but they apparently were no longer doing the job. I won’t wear support free shoes for longer than a couple of hours—sitting hours. If only crocs weren’t so ugly! I also need to get some new running shoes, but they will have to wait a bit longer. My birthday’s coming up, maybe I’ll get them then. smile

Life is wonderful. Bunco tonight, so tons of fun too!

Make sure you get good shoes for work. After a bout with a heel spur, I never wore leather soled shoes to work again. I made sure I had support and padding and I really never wore heels again. It’s hard to stand for hours on end!

My legs and feet feel so much better. The still are tired, but not sore. I doubt if the tired feeling will go away entirely when you stand all the time. Luckily, teachers at my school aren’t allowed to wear high heels, so the pressure there is off.

My goals for this weekend are:
- clean the house
- catch up on the site
- run 5 miles
- get Mouse new shoes
- mow the jungle formerly known as my yard
- take a long hot bath, preferably with no interruptions

Well, so far I’ve gotten done:
- run 5 miles
- get Mouse new shoes
- mow the lawn
- take a long, hot, uninterrupted bath

Half done with:
- cleaning the house
- catching up on the site

It’s been a good weekend, too hot to be outside much, but otherwise a good weekend.

Thank you, Muriel! I almost forgot my birthday is coming up! Too funny.

I did get all my weekend chores done. Catching up on the site is a never ending job, thank goodness I love reading about everyone here!

Hi Bree,

Just read the last two pages, that’s great news about grandma!

And well done on cleaning the house, we’ve just done that too, it makes you feel great when everything’s clean doesn’t it?!

Everything’s very hectic for me right now, so just in case I don’t get a chance to come on the site beforehand, have a wonderful birthday on Tuesday! Take the day off, do something really fun! What I like to do for important days like that is to put a little not in my “homework” book saying “ENJOY your day!” That way at the end of the week, you have the memory of a lovely day, AND you get to tick it off as one of your achieved goals!

Have fun!

Thanks Nienke, for helping me getting the date right!!  blank stare

Hi Bree,
It is nearly your birthday now, and I think Nienke is right, give yourself some very special moments Tuesday. And get everybody to sing for you!!
LOL
I will be out for the coming week so it will be hard to get you the celebrations tuesday, but I will be thinking about you!

Ps listen to your inner self when deciding to run or not to run and how far…

This last week I didn’t do any running. I felt like a sloth, but I have a goofy little cold that came with dry sinuses. Running and making my throat dryer and more sore didn’t sound good. That and I just couldn’t get my eyes open. I needed a lot more sleep than normal. That and PMS.  Fun week.

I’m getting back in the groove next week. Even if I have to sleep with eye drops next to the bed and coffee on the nightstand.

Not sure what I’m going to do for my birthday. I have a book club meeting that night, and a MM Teleseminar. Not sure which one to choose. I’m also not sure what to get for my birthday. Hubby and I have an odd take on presents, for birthdays and holidays (besides Christmas), we get $100 to do whatever we want with. I’m thinking I’d like a HR monitor that has a chest strap so I don’t have to hold the watch until the thing reads my HR. That, and I’d like the continuous reading. That and maybe a hydration belt. I also need new running shoes. Decisions, decisions.

Wow, haven’t posted since my birthday. Well, not on this thread anyway.

Currently my diet is under tight control. My friend Jenn is getting married this weekend and I want to eat cake, so I’m really behaving now. Hubby’s the best man, and Mouse is the flower girl. Lots of cute pics to come! The wedding is in Charleston, SC on a plantation, so it should be gorgeous. I found a dress that looks really good on me, and Skeeter settled on one that looks amazing on her too. Though she looks good in everything, but I’m happy she finally picked a dress.

I ran the 10K, had to walk more than I’d have liked, but my time was what I was shooting for—73 minutes. That keeps my typical 5 mph pace that I run on the treadmill, with the walking, I must have been running a bit faster than I realized. This is why outside running is great, I go faster. The HR monitor tells me when to pull it back in. I’m a natural sprinter, so long distance running is a challenge in many ways.

My HR monitor is the Polar F6. The F11 was awesome, but all the cool features it has that the F6 doesn’t requires a PC. I have a Mac, so I opted to pay less and get the one I can use all the features on. Only makes sense.

This weekend I splurged on new running shoes. I got the Asics Gel Nimbus. Awesome shoe. I’m running tonight (Hubby has a supper to go to for work, and Mouse has a friend over, so its been postponed) and I absolutely can’t wait. They felt so wonderful at the store. Pricey, but if it lets me run and my knee feeling good, well worth every penny.

Have a great week!
