Yay! I know of a few people who did WW, and you are the only one so far that hasn’t gained any back since completing your goal. Well done!!!

I like your attitude, Julie. I refuse to ban any food too but do try for moderation in frequency and portion.

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Saturday- A busy day. full of rain and a peek of sunshine here and there.  This weekend it has been hard to get the things I want to get done for two reasons, outdoor work can’t be done due to rain, and well, the rain has also sucked some of my motivation out the window.  We ended up going out for supper in which before hand I got online and calculated my calorie intake for the meal, did real good.  went over to the family’s house and socialized and came home at 10pm.  I put the little one to bed, still had excess energy and decided to run a few miles on the treadmill and do some weights.  Felt good to take advantage of the time I had.

Sundays-my day of rest.  Just did some “hardio”, went to church , socialized, made a tasty dinner, and have an evening with a good book.  I am really excited for this new week, I am planning out my garden and will be planting all my starter plants (we are going organic as possible which will be nice)

Things in my garden:
basil
parsley-flat leaf
sweet potatoes
big boy tomatoes
cherry tomatoes
bibb lettuce
sweet corn
banana peppers
zucchinis
strawberries

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!!

Hi Julie, great to hear from you.

Do you have to plant strawberries every year?  I’ve lived in California all my life and they are one food plant that doesn’t need to be planted every year here.

Tom,
Either it will turn into feast city for all the wild critters in her neighborhood or she’s having us all over for Italian.

I’m thinking pizza night!

I’ll take a Margherite pizza, maybe a Caprese salad, some homemade garlic bread.

I’ll bring the Chianti for dinner & Espresso for after dinner coffee!

This reminded me of a Tori Amos song called Datura - a 9 minute jam where she just names off everything she grows...including the psychedelic plant of the title.
Got any datura?

So all my plants are in the ground and I keep staring at my “work"---my mouth waters just thinking of all the yummy things I can make with fresh produce....caprese salad oh my! BLTs for the hubby, sweet potatoes that melt in your mouth....yum yum yum!  It is pretty sad, I even have included the “well being” of my garden into my prayers..."Dear Jesus, please bless my garden”.....

Today I had every intention to run until my legs give out but only got in 5 miles.  I just didn’t have the time this afternoon.  I may do 5 more after supper...who knows.  My body seems to shut down after 7pm.  Well the sun is shining and I am going to soak it up.  Happy Tuesday everyone.

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!! I am peeking in on things here!!! I’ve been gone now for a few months, been doing my thing, trying out new avenues of motivation.  I have been really inspired by strong women figures to help “bump” me into the woman I’d like to be.  I have discovered thru reading Oxygen Magazine (A GREAT magazine dedicated to strong women with muscle, form, and the anti-modelesqe physique) Tosca Reno.  A 40 something woman who made life changes and now has a rockin’ bod.  I really LOVE strength training and have found that cardio, yeah, great for burning calories, isn’t going to shape my body how I want it.  Strength training is helps do just that!  I have etched time off of my running pace, have muscles that I didn’t know I had...and have kept weight off.  I still enjoy my daily run (I just did a race over the weekend) but now add about 5 days of strength training.  I love it.

Life here has been great, the summer was nice and now looking forward to a new season.  Time goes so fast when you are having fun!!! I just wanted to let everyone know (thanks Joan, Emmi, Kevin, Jill) for peeking in on me and my “lack of posting” lol.
