Thoughts of the day, August 16, 2008:
A closet of clothes that fit!
Those of you who have been following my story know two things: 1. I lost 25 pounds and 6 dress sizes about two years ago; 2. I started my first “real” job at the beginning of May. Consequently, I had a lot of inappropriate, ill-fitting clothes in my closet, and at long last I had money to do something about it. Since I started at this new job, I’ve gone clothes shopping three times, which is a frequency probably unprecedented in my life.
After today’s trip, I think I’m finally set. I’m working at a casual office (jeans are okay, so are sneakers), so I don’t have any suits. On the other hand, I now feel that I have plenty of clothes to wear both in the office and out of it, and (the best part) it all fits! I even have a new little black dress (or will, once it’s shortened) for special occasions like the wedding I’ve got at the end of the month. Yay!
It feels so nice to be able to go into my closet and not despair because I’ve only got three or four work-appropriate outfits that fit. Between all the tops and bottoms I’ve got now, I’ve got dozens of choices. Huzzah!
I even got almost everything on deep discount. Today I got 13 new items for a grand total of $215. Is that good, or what!
I’m so proud of me!
Cheers,
Julie
