JULY 10 DAY 191

thru

JULY 19 DAY 200
Healing days. My ankle is feeling much better. It’s still a bit weak but I can get around and move now - with the Doctor’s okay of course.

JULY 20 DAY 201
Bicycling - leisurely in the park with my Fi’

JULY 21 DAY 202
Gym
PTBC - Elliptical

1 hour 8 minutes
4.65 Miles
837 Calories
What a way to get back in.
I wanted to go first thing this morning but I hardly got a spec of sleep last night so I guess I’ll hit the gym tonight instead and maybe even do some kind of weights while I’m at it. I really don’t want to push too hard yet. It’s so hard to hold back once I get going. I’m wearing my stretchy ankle support thingy so I seem to be okay.

Emmi, sorry you hurt your ankle . . . but glad it’s getting better.

Most of your exercise has been cardio recently (if I remember what I just read). Have you tried any weight training?

JULY 22 DAY 203
Ended up being a rest day.
My one friend called me and was all upset about a current ordeal and she needed my shoulder. You know how that goes.

JULY 23 DAY 204
Elliptical:

268 Calories / HR Monitor said I burned 509 (What’s up with that?)
30 Minutes
2.14 Miles

Weights:
Lateral Raise
30# 1 x 15, 20, 25
Vertical Row:
40# 2 x 15
Incline Pec Deck:
30# 1 x 15
20# 1 x 6
10# 1 x 6
Bicep Curls:
30# 1 x 12, 2 x 6
20# 1 x 20
Tricep Machine:
40# 1 x 15, 12
30# 1 x 20
Weight Time: 30 Minutes
Calories according to my HR Monitor: 437 (That doesn’t make sense. Is that really possible?)

How’s that for weights, Joan!

Good job on the weights, Emmi. I don’t know enough about the HR monitor to know about accuracy. The 268 on the elliptical seems more normal considering the readings I get. . . . You do burn significant calories while pushing weights around but 437 seems high. Just remember that the more muscle you have, the higher your BMR.

Emmi, were you taking short rest breaks between sets? If so, it was like a major cardio/resistance session and the number is probably accurate!

Way to get back in! And I’m so happy you’re up and around again!!!

Thanks Bree. I probably rested only 20-30 seconds between sets. I was sweating something pretty fierce when I was finished. I still have a hard time believing those stats. It’s cool with me if it’s true!

I just had some lunch with my future hubby. Since it is so absolutely gorgeous outside today we decided to go bicycling together after work. He’s starting to be concerned about his weight and the impending wedding and pictures.
I love it when he wants to work up a sweat with me!  tongue wink

How nice that you workout together!  I think it’s cute that he’s worrying about his looks.  Usually it’s just the brides that freak out about it.  You are a great example for him with all of your success.  I’m sure you both will be gorgeous on your big day.

JULY 28 DAY 209
Another Rest Day

JULY 29 DAY 210
While I waited for my Fi’ to get home, I did:
225 Crunches
15 Pushups

Then after he got home we did:
Bicycle Ride
1 Hour 7 Minutes
11 Miles
494 Calories (According to my HR monitor)

Then we did:
Powerwalk
2.8 Miles
40 Minutes
240 Calories

I slept like a rock last night and slept through my alarm this morning. Tonight I have to meet my sister and we’re sorting out the bridemaids’ gifts and then I have to pick up my Fi’ so we’ll see if I have time to do something. I’ll be happy if I get some more crunches in. Quite frankly, my body is tired from last night’s activities. Whew! Starting to see some positive results though. I haven’t stepped on a scale in awhile but clothes feel better.
