Sunburns have healed, and now I have the darkest tan I’ve ever had. It’s really freaky.

Today I did Power 90 cardio/abs and ran a mile! Woohoo!!!!!! Took about a 30-45 second walk break in the middle, and it felt so much better than the run on Sunday did.

On a sad note, I had to mace a dog. This little yappy brown thing has a horrible habit of trying to bite any moving target. I’ve talked to the owner, Hubby has talked to the owner, but the darn thing keeps coming and trying to eat my ankles. I slowed to a walk, that didn’t work; I sprayed a warning stream in front of it, that didn’t work (it did for the other one, but not the evil thing); so I maced it. AND IT CAME BACK AGAIN!!! Of course, it had to pause and roll around in the grass, but it came back! The owner finally called it and it went home, but on the second lap it came again. I held the mace up, and the dog backed down.

I really wish people would obey the leash law, especially when their dog/s are known menaces. Maybe after they have to deal with the smell and bathing the dog they’ll start being responsible pet owners.

And now stepping off my soapbox.

Oh no!!  I understand though.  Owners need to be in control of their aminals.  And biting dogs should certainly not be permitted to run free in the streets!!  What would the owner have done if the little monster had actualy bit you?  I am more familiar with pepper spray and I know what that does (not by personal experience) - does mace do the same thing?

I think its the same thing, what I have is Mace brand, it might just be pepper spray.

Having 2 wonderful little fur balls myself, I hate to be mean to a dog. But I also know the responsibility and that you have to take care of them. Before, I let the neighborhood dogs scare me out of running outside, that’s just ridiculous. If it continues, I’ll be making some complaints. I just want them to stay in their yard so I can get my run on.

Today: P90 sculpting

Felt a bit weak today. Think its from the heat, I never got into the pool, so no rapid cool down. Still did the 10 pound weights, put didn’t reach the same on my max push-ups.

I’m heading out of town Saturday for 2 weeks. Should have internet access the first week, but not the second. I’ve already gotten my workouts planned, so no worries there. Going to South Dakota, and gonna climb a mountain!

Bree, dog gets peppered or you get bit, easy choice! Hey it’s better than the dog bitting you and it having to be put down, right?

Bree,
Have you ever done a 10K race?

Nope, my longest run ever is 4.5 miles. Tonight I’m running 1.5, woohoo (with my mace, of course).

Just for kicks I did a search on races in Tennessee. There’s a 5K September 27th within 15 miles of me. I think I may just sign up.

Today: P90 cardio/abs, 1.5 mile run, some walking

Caught Jenn during her run, that was cool, so we ran/ walked together. I ran at her walking speed sometimes. I feel really good!

On a sad note, my grandma is doing really poorly. I’ve put it in my journal, but not here. The first week in SD will be helping Mom take care of her. The second week is a second honeymoon. That could be a downer, but the plan to climb a mountain will help. And I get to see my childhood bf!

Great job on the running!  Can’t wait to see pics of the vacy!  wink Sorry about Grandma downer  Don’t understand dog owners.  It’s not like that here, you definitly have to have your dog fenced or on a leash.  I am a dog lover, but you have to draw the line.  Keep up with the mace.  No use getting bit!

Friday: 1 mile run, P90 sculpting

The dog’s owners have been much better about calling it back to their yard when they see me running. But the dog that bit me last year was out, and I sprayed him. Don’t think I got him too bad, he was still a few feet away, but he stopped chasing me and left me alone for the second lap.

So humid today, I ran at almost dark, and looked like I just got out of a shower until I took one - after the sculpting. Ugh. Looking forward to the lack of humidity up north!

And I’ll take lots of pics!

Sorry about your grandmother--but enjoy your trip.

And don’t feel bad about macing the dogs. They need to be under control. Suppose you were a child???

Sorry to hear about your grandma.

as far as the dogs go ... some people are real idiots.  For the dog’s sake, I hope they keep them leased up or find better homes for them.

Thanks for the good vibes and well wishes. I hate to say it, but she won’t be getting better. This is the end, and I’m honored that I can share part of that with her. I’m at her place now, unable to sleep, so thought I’d check in.

Saturday: Rest day
Sunday: 1 mile walk

Was planning on running and doing my Power 90, but just didn’t get it done. Not sure where I can do the DVD here. There is no room, maybe the garage with the DVD playing on Mom’s laptop. So tomorrow will be a double up. It’ll be good for me.

I am thoroughly enjoying the cooler temps and lack of humidity. I’m even wearing long sleeves!
