Something like this:

Seriously, I don’t use a gym, I go to a small dojo for karate and the great outdoors for walking.

Looking forward to seeing other peoples’ pictures!

Cheers,
Julie

Here’s my garage gym. Note my son’s new car seat in front of the weight bench and did you see the canoe?
Needs cleaned out again!  I do most of my yoga in my bedroom and have a pilates machine (left by my daughter)
in my office in the house.

I go to the local YMCA and sometimes ride in my basement.

Julie,

That picture you posted looks remarkably like a side street in downtown Toronto right now smile The plows have been really slow moving this time.

Jeff,

Is it going up in the crazy above-0 numbers in Toronto as well?  Yesterday they predicted +11 C here (crazy!), but now they’re saying “only” +6 C (still crazy!)

Of course, the weather changes, and I get sick.  Stupid weather.  But at least it’ll be warm.  *grin*

Cheers,
Julie

The same here for weather.  The army wasn’t brought in this year to clear the snow.  Perhaps we could have used their help this time. smile

Is that your gym on your street?
I go to chain called Good Life Fitness.  They are in Quebec, as well.  I have a platinum membership which allows me to use other clubs in the chain for free.  My membership is with the Union Station club downtown because it is close to the building where I work.

I also use a Good Life club about 15 minutes from where I live in the suburbs.

If I can’t get to the club because of the weather, I have some dumbells, a stationery bike, and some tapes that I use at home.

However, I really like to exercise outside my home, because I find it more motivating.

I tried to find a picture of a Good Life club.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t.  But they exist in a variety of locations and formats.  My club is in the underground city right off the train station, close to Rogers Centre and Air Canada Centre (where the Leafs play).

Hello, Striving Runner

I had thought about joining the Y at one time.  Their rates didn’t seem much cheaper than those at a fitness club chain like Good Life (in Canada) or Bally.  Are they much cheaper?  I liked the one in the downtown area.  It had a running track.  Not all clubs seem to have that feature.

Because I have a physical disability, I used to belong to Variety Club.  I could get a membership there really cheap, and they have a running track.  However, the equipment, at least 10-15 years ago, wasn’t up to snuff.

I really like the Good Life club, of which I’m a member.

Hey Jeff,

I have a family Away membership, so when we go out of town we can go work out and that is nice. We pay $79 a month (for the family) which is less that the new lifetime fitness they are building nearby. The y is close to home so it is convenient to use. I figure the per use cost is cheaper the more you go. What I do not like are the weekend hours. They close at 6 on Saturday and 5 Sunday night. The y I go to has a running track, but not all of them do. They seem to vary alot by location. I also participate in a masters swim class at the y, there is a fee but itis cheaper for members. I don’t think we have a Good Life club in here-I like the name!

The Good Life fitness club chain has been around for almost 30 years and is Canadian owned and operated.

Well, my gym is in Paris. Not many pictures but it’s a huge famous pool with integrated gym. It’s quite unique. Oldfashion and authentic.

Here are some photos from their site.  It’s a veritable palace of a gym in San Francisco called The Sports Club/LA.  Exceptional facilities, classes, staff, etc.  I’ve been loving it.  In terms of cool aesthetics, Equinox in SF is also very cool - it’s based in the old Pacific Stock Exchange building with beautiful art-deco design and the lockerrooms are in former money vaults, so you walk through huge vault doors to get in - how cool!
