I listen to a huge range on my I Pod whilst at the gym or out walking to get me going!

Some of the tunes really make me go that extra mile

ie -
Dont stop me Now - Queen

Push It - Salt & Pepper

Electrobix - Scissor Sisters

to name but a few (the playlist gets longer and longer)

Ive always got music on and sometimes I just dance around with extra gusto to give the gym workouts an extra boost.

(I limit the dancing to around the house just now, I dont want to scare the neighbours)

Good topic - I’ve always got music going in the background whenever I can.

You certainly can’t go wrong with Queen.  I had “Night at the Opera” in the player for the last few days.  Today I switched over to Journey’s greatest hits and I made a mental note to put together a more motivational mix.

When I’m workin’ out I listen to SCOTT of course! wink but when I get annoyed with him (is that even possible?) I switch over to…

To get moving:

Alive and Amplified by the Mooney Suzuki
Let’s Get it Started by the Black Eyed Peas
Gotta Get Trough This by Daniel Bedingfield
Survivor by Destiny’s Child
Walking in my Shoes by Depeche Mode
Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson
Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz
Dual of Fates and Imperial March by Johm Williams (Star Wars Episode I/V)

To cool down:

100 years and Superman by Five for Fighting
You and Me by Lifehouse
Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd

And then there are groups I simply will listen to anything of theirs: Nickelback, Metallica, Evanescence, Maroon 5, Creed, and too many more to list…

I used to be really selective about my music but now I enjoy getting those free downloads from iTunes.

They are classic 70s/80s rock - I’m sure you would probably recognize some of their songs.

Check out “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” and “Don’t Stop Believin”

Carrie - I don’t think I could listen to Dual of the Fates when working out - I think I would have an uncontrollable urge to run around and smack everyone with a plastic light saber.  But then again that might count as cardio smile

Hey!  One day as a Moderator and you’re sounding like me wife!  smile

Actually - I get it.  I always exercise to music for the extra kick it gives me.  That was until one day I was in shuffle mode when this really cool show came on… now what was it called… Motivation something.  But as soon as it was over, and I listened twice, I went back to my music.

Love your music choices Carrie

Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta get threw this ha ha I can feel an addition to my playlist coming on I think I may add that one
Thanks for that
I love Five for Fighting and Lifehouse but they dont seem to be very well known over here, I accidently found them while I was downloading David Grays latest CD, and I am glad I did.

Abba came on the I pod the other day now that got me Dancing around the house again!

I have never been a LeAnn Rimes fan but missed the intro song ("We Can") on Scott’s weekly podcast.  So I downloaded it.  For the guy who wrote to Scott and said he also missed it, it’s only $.99 on ITunes...you can put it at the beginning of the show yourself!

This going to seriously date my wife and I - but we like to put on anything be Sammy Hagar (Can’t Drive 55) or AC DC during our workout sessions. That simple driving rock beat of the 80s is right on the money for us - also spending a week in Cabo visiting Sammy’s bar & restaurant (El Cabo Wabo) had a little to do with our bias… Hairbands were good for something afterall…

Hair? I don’t have that problem… (although my wife doesn’t seem to mind)… grin
