Sounds like fun with your ‘little one’ (mine’s 26, and she’s still my little one!)

Take care of that sunburn!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

Today the burn is worse. Lots of aloe. After the spray ran out, I should’ve had Skeeter go over it with the regular sunscreen (I keep a small tube of that for faces and used it for my arms and front, where I didn’t burn). The places that I did spray for sure are white, the rest are red. Since my suit is blue, I’m very patriotic!

Sunburns stink (or better yet sting)… you have to be very generous with that sunscreen Bree!!  Be sure to re-apply after swimming even if it is the waterpoof gunk.  When I Guarded at outdoor pools I used several bottles a summer.  Used it as my moisturizer every moring before I got dressed to be sure I got everywhere important instead of trying to put it on around clothing straps etc.

Good Job on keeping up with the workouts.

I did, that’s the sad thing. I reapplied twice. Next time, I’m going with the old fashioned bottle lotion and see if that helps. Not sure we’re going to the pool tomorrow. I promised another of Mouse’s friends we’d take her, but even if the girls wear t-shirts over the suits, their faces have no protection. We’ll have to wait and see.

Ouch on the sunburn. I’ve been peeling on my arms since Memorial day. Forgot to put sunscreen on!  shut eye

There’s some wonderful aloe out the with Lidocaine in it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lidocaine
The aloe helps with soothing and moisturizing and the Lidocaine temporarily relieves the pain. I bought mine at Drug Mart but you could probably find the stuff at your local pharmacy or discount mart. It’s green but goes on clear. Try it. You’ll love it!

Cool! I’ll try that! I woke up with my shirt stuck to my back, ow. My aloe is green, so that’s not a turn off, but has no lidocaine in it.

I’ll be skipping the pool today. Mouse’s friend’s has the opportunity to go to her grandma’s in another town to swim, so the pressure to go is off. The other friend is here and a lovely shade of hot pink. confused

When I was a kid, I don’t remember using sunscreen, and I don’t remember getting this sunburned. I’m sure I did, but I don’t remember major sunburn issues until I was in high school. I just called Mom, and she confirmed the lack of sunburning. Weird.

Lidocaine is wonderful stuff, thanks Emmi!

We did the p90 sculpting yesterday and it completed our week 1. Next week I’m upping the weights. My weight is fluctuating due to sunburn, but its down from the start by over a pound, and that wasn’t counting flo weight.

Today is my rest day, wahoo!

I’m doing it at home. Bought the dvds from the site and really like them. I looked at ebay, but the price after shipping was almost the same and you don’t get all the extras. The deals may be better now. My abs definitely have a tighter feel to them.

Wow, doing P90 while sunburnt? You are amazing!

I’m thinking that the shirt sticking to that sunburn after a sweaty, soaking workout takes peeling off to a new definition.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Bree!

Thanks, guys! We went to the pool yesterday, and wore t-shirts the whole time. That and different sunscreen kept the burn from getting any worse. But I decided that today we’d stay home and heal. Mouse’s eyelids are still red and she had a hard time keeping on sunglasses. Tomorrow the pool’s closed, so there’s an extra healing day. I did take a picture, it looks like I have a disease.

Hubby has said a couple times this weekend that I’m looking better. Yay! I just finished supper and will be doing P90 cardio/abs in about 30 minutes. Now if I just got my eating in line ...

Yesterday—p90 cardio/abs
Today—p90 sculpting - upped the weights on some of the exercises.

Tomorrow its back to the pool!
