For right now just walking faster (I increase it usually by .5mph and 1% elevation during the intervals). In just the week + I have been going I have increased my start speed from 2 to 2.5 and I can see the improvement in the distance for the time I put in.
Well I have been working out even though I have not been posting-YEA ME!!!
5/8 Thursday Bike Treadmill 22 min
5/9 Friday Treadmill 25 min
5/10 Saturday No “Gym” exercise-just 4 HOURS of walking around Office Depot-Target-Walmart-Staples pricing cordless phones w/ answering machines & 4 in one printer-scanner-copier-fax (and paying bills). not really much of a rest day
5/11 Sunday Weights-Bike 7 minutes Treadmill Intervals 20 min with elevation
5/12 Monday-Bike Treadmill 37 min
5/13 Tuesday-Weights 15 min Treadmill 10
5/14 Wednesday-REST DAY!-Went to a talk at 1pm & was 100 degrees (<me HOT) on my front porch (IN THE SHADE!!) I closed up the house & never went out again (& it never cooled off-at about 4am I opened a window and the breeze coming in was still warm but not hot)
5/15 Thursday AM-20 min C25K intervals-weight machines-2 arm/shoulder (front & back) 2 leg-inner & outer thighs =15 reps 3 times increasing some of them
not as detailed as it would have been if I had any sort of memory or posted every day-
Will need to work out in the AM tomorrow -Going to Home & Garden Show in afternoon-espected temp 100+ degrees
Just looking so far, working on resume, telling people, reading about job hunting & resumes
Got a notice about a go job at the county (great benefits & $$) and will send the online application in tonight. (It was does not close until the end of May).
Gym-10-15 min weight legs (3 machines 3 reps 15 count) Treadmill @ 10 minutes until I broke machine with my speed OK technically not broken-an ERROR 40-The machine was doing a programed set and had a reverse incline and I did speed up too much to 4mph
Also walked @ 2 hours at the Home & Garden Show-it was in the high 90s very easy cardio did not really reach my target zone.
Weights (chest/back) & Stretching 10-15 min did my reps and tried a couple of other machines one the main floor-the"guy level” since there were not many people there-"my" machines are on the 2nd level (balcony) were you aren’t visible to everyone like the floor -more likely to have women up there (or in the cardio room)
Treadmill-23 min @.95 miles level 0-7 speed @2.2 to 3 mph TZ @20 min
Elliptical-3 min All TZ This was a different machine than I tried before which was an elliptical crosstrainer. This one felt much better. Next time I will do it before the treadmill.
You can probably tell by me going every day (almost) that I really like the gym.
Sunday & Monday Rest Days-the weights on Saturday worked so well I was sore on Sunday & Monday was just very busy with other stuff.
Tuesday “walked” 1 hour with friend -technically it was a walk on the paths by the river but part of it was on a gravel road which made my feet, ankles & legs very sore both yesterday and today-so I truly consider it a HIKE!
Wednesday-Back to the Gym!! Did 7 min on elliptical & 23 min-1 mile on treadmill
Bree, it was beautiful being next to the river and amazingly quite even thought we were very close to the 4 lane bridge that crosses the river, we couldn’t even hear the cars.
Thursday-Sloth Day-planned on going to gym but never got there so a Sloth Day not a Rest day
Friday-Gym 5/23
Weights Legs & Stretching-26 min ave HR 87 max 101-246 calories
Eliptical-9 min ave HR 11 max 123-108 calories
Treadmill-Jonathan Roche intervals-23 min ave HR 111 max 128-280 calories
Also felt my first blister on my foot as I was doing the treadmill-will have to put some moleskin in the shoes.
