Thanks, Joan and Tom!

Yesterday I ended up just doing some hardio. Was planning on yoga, but had to run to the pharmacy to pick up Skeeter’s prescription and got caught up in laundry when I got home and the evening just got away from me.

So far today I’ve been at Mouse’s Field Day and helped out there.

Life has been interesting lately, I’ll write more about it in my journal, but here’s the nitty gritty. Knee’s not healing, have to get the MRI, Skeeter got an award for being in the top 10% of the 6th grade (yay!!!), Mouse had her field day and was clingy and fussy, after field day I had 2 messages: Grandma’s in the hospital, and the cost of fixing the septic is over twice what we thought it would be. And my bikini arrived today.

So, I’m holding onto the thrill of my brainiac child getting recognition and how hot I’ll look in that bikini regardless of what I do to finish my weight loss journey.

While typing that, the hospital called to verify insurance, then called back with my copay amount. Next week is going to be expensive. Thank God for Dave Ramsey and a healthy emergency fund.

Yesterday was Kundalini Yoga. Felt really good, and noticed my lower back is a bit tight, wonder if my posture is going sloppy.

Tried on the bikini last night, thought I looked horrible, Hubby said otherwise. (He’s not one to give compliments, so I was confused.) This morning I put it back on, had him take some pics, and he’s right, not horrible. I’m thinking I should’ve ordered a larger top, the girls are feeling a little exposed. They are completely covered, but I may still get the larger top.

Today is lots of hardio, silly house keeps getting messy. And Jenn and I are going to do something. I’m thinking YBB toning, but we’ll see what actually happens.

Congrats on Skeeter and I hope the MRI gives you some insight into your knee problems.

Kundalini yoga has some chanting, and it has you move in the positions rhythmically. Jenn has a 12 week course on DVD that we’re following, I’m really liking it for those days when you just need something easy and healing.

Pilates today! Jenn never made it over, so I was solo. She’s having car issues, I’m assuming that’s taking a lot of time. They’re trying to figure out if they can fix it themselves.

I did get some of my housework done, but Mario Kart was very distracting.

Inhale yoga. I held the side planks for almost the whole time, set down my knee about 1 second before we were done. What a great way to end the day.

Bree

And yep, nervous about my MRI tomorrow. Not the actual test, but the results.

Let us know how that goes! Glad to see that you at least try to keep moving even though you’re having knee problems. Way to go, girl! I’ll bet you look great in your bikini! We’re always our own worst critics!

I know when I normally look in the mirror, I look at specific areas and find all the flaws. But when I look at others, I see them as a whole, and focus on their best features. I see myself more as a whole in pictures, so the little flaws aren’t as apparent.

MRI results are already back! They’re normal, so just persistent inflammation. If it’s not better in another couple of weeks, he wants me to get a cortisone shot. Can a chiropractor help with inflammation?

Jenn and I just finished pilates. I’m feeling stronger with my abs. The tentative plan for power 90 (with the necessary modifications for any residual knee pain) is to start June 1st. So, if anyone wants to join us, albeit long distance, you still have time!

Hey Bree

This is my favourite avatar!! I like butterflies, (dragonflies, ladybugs - I seem to have a thing for insects - but only the pretty ones!)

Glad to hear the knee issues are not serious. My Chiropractor is using photo therapy, laser and occasionally micro electro current to treat the inflammation in my knees, but I keep doing things to aggravate them so they have not been healing well. This past week I have stopped using the elliptical and am sticking to swimming and bike for cardio. The exercises I do for weight training seem to be ok, but of course I am no longer doing squats (leg press instead). When I do leg extensions my chiro told me to turn my toes out to help strengthen the part of the quad muscle on the inner part of my leg. That is supposed to help keep my knee cap in the grove better so it tracks better. I have also been diligent in stretching my quads and gone back to icing my knees daily and tonight they do feel much better than just a few days ago.
