Howdy! I’m Lisa, I just joined. I found out about this program through another board I post at. I’ve been exercising regularly now for a month and thought this will be interesting and motivating for me to start. My routine is this:

Mon, Wed, Fri, : Cardio, I do approximately 1.66 - 1.75 miles in approximately 35 minutes depending on what my personal trainer (I use an online program designed for mp3 players) has me doing.

Tue, Thur, Sat, : Strength training (once again, it’s a program designed for me) Thursdays is light strength training just focusing on core and usually lasts approximately 15 minutes. This is good because Thursdays are my busiest days.

My goal is to lose weight to become healthy, I’ve lost 60 lbs so far and have about 65-70 more to go. I’ve stalled and am really trying to amp things up.

My health issues are high blood pressure, asthma, bad knees, and depression. I’ve learned that if I take the right combo of vitamins and minerals, my depression meds work much better for me. My knees are not so bad that I can’t walk a good distance, but running is completely out of the question for me at this time. I’m not ruling it out, but I am also being realistic. I also have the emergency medical tech mentality that you never run unless: a) a bear is chasing you or b) a guy with a gun is chasing you. I can walk rather quickly though.

So, here goes.... I’m actually off the gym for a good hours worth of strength training that makes me feel really good afterwards.

Go Lisa! Welcome!
I just did my 50th day on this challenge and I’ve learned a lot from others and a bit from myself.
Make sure you write (and exercise) regularly!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Thanks all for the welcome! Today is my day off although the weather is beautiful here today, and DD mentioned she was going to take the puppy down to the lake. I just might have to walk down there with them. The puppy has decided she likes to swim. Fun for her, pain in the toucas for me when it comes to having to getting her cleaned off. Might even take a sandwich with us.

Welcome, Lisa!  We have a lot in common!  We share a name and time at the rink in addition to this forum.  My son has been playing hockey since he was 5 and will be heading off to college this fall.  I found last year that I was tired of sitting on the sidelines watching my son and husband doing fun active things and decided to jump in and join them.

You are off to a great start!

Lisa, great to meet you!! My daughter is 11 (PeeWee next seson) and has been playing for almost 5 years now. She already know where she wants to go to college, LOL, on her hockey scholarship. That’s if she lives that long!! Little snot is getting hormones! And with season over with right now I’ve got no ice to send her to until school gets out and then it’ll be hockey camp, hockey camp, hockey camp!!

Day 5 today! I love the cardio part of this program I’m on, I noticed it’s getting easier, time for me to let them know so they can challenge me some more.
