Here it is .... my official day 1....(April 30, 2008)

I have been moving until now....but it is time to switch gears. I don’t want to tell you what I am “going to do”...but rather I am here....committing to write tonight after I have done it! Accountability starts now. One small step...commit to today. I am committed....let’s see where I can take this!!!

I am so excited to read the posts here too.... to see people doing it! Making the steps, inside of their busy lives. Ok...time to start! Check back with me tonight!

Day one down!

First thing I did was sign up for the premium membership and load up the ipod with all the motivational tools I can use on my cardio sessions. I already run 2 to 3 days a week for 30 mins, but today I went out for an hour. Yes...some of it was spent enjoying the sound of the birds and just breathing in the aroma of spring...but all in all....good work. I had a good supper...chicken breast, brown rice, mixed steamed veggies and a tsp of sunflower seeds, drank water consistantly through the day and now have promised myself that I will write down some of my values/goals/outcomes tonight.

Since I am moving in 17 days..I packed all my wieghts...HA! That shows how much I was using them. Tomorrow I am going to unpack those puppies and do some chest and back!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE chest day.... Very excited to revisit those weights!!

I must admit I am abit overwhelmed with the community here. Thankyou to everyone who posted on my thread. I am amazed at the positive messages! Thank you so much. Thanks for keeping me accountable! I am going to get this done....just like all of you...one day and one step at a time!

Day two…

Listened to day one of the “start moving stay moving” program… and the daily programs...all from atop my dusty elliptical. WHOO!!! I also stuck to the 12 hour diet and no refined sugar.....I must admit...I have a bit of a sugar withdrawl headache....I remember this from the last time i cleaned up my diet, and remember also that the headache left on day four...to be followed by an increadible surge of energy and feeling of renewed wellbeing. I remember loving that day.... so no worries. I promise me that i will follow through.

As far as the weights...I have realized that they are now packed in the spare room of my parents house (they lent me some space until my move) I will use all my womenly wiles to try to get dear hubby to bring them back....hehee

Ok...wish me luck in the “wiles” dept. Maybe reminding him of the “wiles” i will have later will help more.

OK...so I just calculated my BMR and it is 1452.
I weighed myself and came in at 144.4 this morning, right before breakfast.

I have decided to eat at 7:30, 10 (snack) 12, 3(snack) and 6...and allow veggies at 7:30 pm. This works for me.

If both of my early snacks are 200 cal each and i only eat raw plain veggies at 7:30 (essentially no cals) then that leaves 350 cal for each meal. I do enjoy a glass (or 2) of wine a couple of times a week....so I will limit this to 2 days ... a glass of wine is 150 cal, so that is max another 300 cals on those 2 days.

As for day 3 smile today....so far I have done 30 min on the elliptical at a good pace on level 8. I will try to run before we get busy tonight to get that other 30 min in, and hubby says he will bring back the weights today ... laughing at me of course! LOL Lately he has been working out at the gym across from his work at lunch.

Joel has started to listen to the podcasts as well and has done cardio every morning before work this week, i think. He is enjoying the renewed vigor as well.

I finished off day 3 with a 30 min run. ..

May 3(day 4) - Nothing. I am suffering from a really yucky sinus cold. My head was pounding yesterday. I really really needed to run, as it was a hugely stressful day. Running always helps me be more opomistic (gotta love endorphins)

Today I plan to do more. I still have a headache, and my throat and sinuses are rough...but at least i can breath out my nose. Just a quick run...nothing to wear me out....or some ab work. Maybe a bit of both. Will update tonight. I hope you all dont mind my double posting...but it is healping me plan my day smile thanks...and i am out.

Ohhh...I wieghed myself this moring 143.0 smile one pound down....this always happens when i clean up my diet. I will go down a couple of pounds (probably water) really fast. ok...ttyl

Hey Bree smile

Ugh! Still no sinus relief in site...so I went for a 1hr20 min stroll on the beach with my 10 year old

After dinner (and a much needed nap) I did go for a 30 min run....

I have conflicting thoughts about w/o and sickness....part of me says stay in and recover....part of me says life happens, so shut up and deal with it. I think that as long as i don’t work to close to fatigue, it will be okay. I still have alittle energy left to fight this off....

This morinings weight 143.2

Hi Jenn,
Looks like your off to great start on your challenge and good job on the weight loss. If you are ill, don’t force yourself to workout if you are feeling that poorly. Concentrate on getting better and you be back to full swing before you know it!

Today (day 6) I took it easy, and only did 30 min on the elliptical and some basic and cross crunches afterward...four sets of 15 each. I am still really sick....ugh. I decided to not run...and use my energy to heal.

Oh and yes, Bree.!!! LOL My wiles DID work...weights are here...(hehe) i am just too sick to want to use them :( Hopefully i am on the mend though!

Thanks Suzanne!

How has your running been going? I think i will go check out your thread as well smile

Yesterday I did 1 hour walk with my mom smile and 30 min run

Today...I did legs at home....and HOLY MOLY....ouch. After a 5min warm up, I did barbell squats....OUCH! wow...its been awhile. Legs are feeling alive now!!! I just did alot of pilates type stuff after that… the squats did me in....I guess its been longer than i thought. Once my body remembers what its doing and settles down i will add sumo squats, deadlifts and lunges. All my favs. Oh and some calf raises too....but not today...i fully believe i will be feeling this in the morning!!!

Diet is going well. Yesterday i was 142.0 and today i am 141.6 WooHoo!!!

Good job Jenn!  Those squats are great aren’t they?  I love lunges myself, but when I haven’t done them in a while it always amazes me that they don’t feel bad while I am doing them, but my legs are sore for days.

I was planning to run a 5K on the treadmill today (not in LSB mode) but my 3 year old woke me up at 4am and then at 5:30am so I may delay that until tomorrow!

UGH...dont even ask!!

Well I have been really run down with this sinus thing...and the weekend was a total bust.

Last night i went for a 30 min run and another 30 min walk, and today a 30 minute STROLL (no work whatsoever) along the river with the kids.

Other than that...ALOT of packing at the moment for the move next weekend.

Eating has been ok for the most part...but Joel and i did crack a really great bottle of wine the other day...2 glasses each...and i am kinda thinking tonight is the night to finish it smile

Tomorrow, I will be doing more excersising. I am still determined....and the sinuses are a dull pain now...nothing like earlier…
