Hi all,

How is everyone doing?

I am getting quite a late start in the forum this year.  I’ve wanted
to post and start this challenge since January but I’ve been traveling
quite a bit and just not felt that I could keep it up… That was my
excuse anyway…

Last year I lost 28 lbs and got down to 182.  Right now, I am at about
191...Over the holidays, I’ve gained the weight but have only done
enough to maintain...mostly through diet and exercising an average of
about 2 times a week since Feb.

I’m still down 18 lbs from where I was this the beginning of 2007 but
I’ve basically been maintaining my weight since the holidays.

This year I want to lose the next 22 lbs on my way to my target weight.

I committed to starting the challenge this past week.  I’ve worked out
Monday through Friday for a total of 5 days.  The workouts were not
extreme but I did about 30 - 45 minutes of cardio each day.  I’ll try
to incorporate one body part for weight training starting next week.

Day 1 - Spinning class
Day 2 - 30 minutes running
Day 3 - 30 minutes stair climber
Day 4 - 30 minutes elliptical
Day 5 - 30 minutes stair climber

I’m looking forward to sharing the next 100 days with you.

Regards,
Charles

Hi Charles,

Great start!
I just got started 3 days ago myself. I’ve learned a lot already and am working on lowering my calorie intake.
I’ll be checking on your progress…

Welcome Charles.  The important part is that you started moving again.  Keep repeating!

Thanks Jarmo, Eileen, Bree!

Well, I’m still going this week smile.

Day 6 - Rest!
Day 7 - Run/Walk for an hour in the evening.
Day 8 (today) - Did 35 minutes on the treadmill and a couple sets on the back and chest.  I was just drained after running.  I think I’ll take Scott’s advice and do the weights first next time.

Good job! You absolutely should go outside…
I was in Bahrain this weekend and did 2 brilliant runs outside, so good to get off the treadmill…

Well, this week was not so good and I have to travel next week so it is going to be challenging to get time to work out.

This week I went for a walk two days but that’s it.  I didn’t get any time in the gym.

I did do a good walk/run on Day 14 for about 1 1/2 hours.  We walked to the next town and jogged some of the way.

Have a good weekend.

Two days is better than no days!  Sometimes life gets in the way, but you’ll be able to get back on track.  Keep up the good work!

Keep it up! I’m sure you’ll find new and creative ways of getting some exercise in and healtheir stuff to eat.
Japan must have some amazing tofu; I like to eat tofu cold with some maple syrup. Tastes like Italian pannacotta (well, almost!)
We’re looking out for you cool smile

You’ll make it, Charles! I’m sure you can figure out a wonderfully creative way to fit in those workouts! Have a great week.

It’s been a while now since I posted.  I had a bad week back in late March and early April I took a short vacation.  I’ve been in the gym pretty regularly the past couple weeks.

Day 15 - 20 - I did either elliptical or stair climber for 30 - 40 minutes every day last week.
Days 21, 22 - Weekend rest
Day 23 - 30 min elliptical
Day 24 - 45 min elliptical
Day 25 - 40 min stair climber
Day 26 - 40 min stair climber

I’ll have to start getting more creative but for now I’m shooting for consistency.

Regards,
Charles

Thanks M.  The posts aren’t frequent but I am still going.

Day 27 - 45 minutes elliptical
Day 28, 29 - rest

This week, I started incorporating weights into my routine and it is making a huge difference.  I’ve been sore most of the week but I’m feeling great.

Day 30 rest
Day 31 - 45 minutes elliptical, chest and back, 20 minutes stair climber (over 2 sessions)
Day 32 - 45 minutes stair climber, bicepts, tricepts, abs
Day 33 - 45 minutes elliptical
Day 34 - 40 minutes stair climber, abs

My energy levels are rising every day.  Although I’m not loosing a lot of weight, I can feel that I am getting stronger as I’m getting more consistent with my routine.

Have a great weekend.

It is good to see you back Charles.  I believe that the weight lifting makes such a difference in what I can eat and still lose weight.  Glad to see you are working those in.  Just keep moving and the weight will come off.

Hi,

I’ve not been regularly posting but I’m still making progress in the background.  I had a couple of slow weeks following my last post, where I could only get to the gym 3 days per week.  My routine picked up last week.

Days 41 - 53 - 3 days of either 45 minutes on the stairs or elliptical each week
Days 53 - 59 - 5 days of 45 minutes on the stairs/elliptical and weight training/abs work a couple days during the week.

Take care,
Charles

Hi,

This weekend and last weekend, I’ve been riding around town in my area looking at new places in Tokyo.  I’ve traveled through 3 cities the past couple of weekends at a light pace but it ended up raining both weekends while I’ve been out.  I just returned this evening from another excursion.

Here’s what I’ve done the past week.

Day 60 - rest
Day 61 - Bike riding around town for about 5 hours
Day 62 - 45 minutes spinning class
Day 63 - rest
Day 64 - 45 minutes stair climber
Day 65 - rest
Day 66 - 35 minutes running on treadmill
Day 67 - 4 hours riding bike riding around town (today)

Have a great weekend.

Regards,
Charles
