It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Day 112: Mon, Apr 21 2008

Sports
Martial Arts - Tai Chi 1h 15m
Meditation 20m

I think I feel worse since going to the doctor on Friday. Everything that was pressured up im my head is coming down. I’ve got a busy week this week with it being the last week of classes, lots of exams and projects due. I think I’m just going to take it easy this week with some yoga and Tai Chi and start back up on Saturday with trianing. This’ll give me a few days to get better and get everything caught up for finals.

Sinus infection

Day 109: Fri, Apr 18 2008

Sick Day:

Remember Sunday when I said, “ I hope its not a sinus infection.” Well, I should have listened to my self and wnt to the doc on Monday instead of wait all week. I do have a sinus/ear infection. Got a shot to make me feel better right away and then an RX or an antibiotic and decongestant. The antibiotic RX was a disaster. I’m allergic to penicillin and was Keflex which is a Cephalosporin, which people with an allergy to PCN can have a cross over reaction too, and I have before, so I had to get a new one called in. So I need to head over to the pharmacy and get it.

Do Over:

Well, this sinus thing has thrown a wrench in to my strength training program so I think I’m going to start over when I start my new tri training program tomorrow. This allows me to make a couple of modifications and kick the soda habit that I’ve picked back up.

Day 108: Thu, Apr 17 2008

Calf hurt, head hurt, nada done.

Day 107: Wed, Apr 16 2008

Strength: 40m
BICEPS DB Curls (4x12@20)
TRICEPS DB Overhead Extension, Lying (4x12@10)
BICEPS DB Concentration (4x24@10)
TRICEPS Dumbell Kickbacks (4x24@10)
FOREARMS Reverse Curls (4x12@20)
TRICEPS Bench Dips (4x12)

CORE Crunches(4x30)
ABS Crunches, Knee Up (4x30)
ABS Bicycles (4x15)

Sports
Martial Arts - Tai Chi 1h 15m
Meditation 08m

My leg is still sore from yesterday. Called in work today because of it. Wish I could skip school today, but can’t. Oh well. I’m looking forward to a home pedicure tonight.

Take care of yourself Jenni - you’re almost through with this semester and you are under a lot of stress right now.  Take your vitamins and get as much sleep as possible!!

Scott says their are three ‘pilars’ of keeping fit.... strength training, cardio and flexibility.

I say there is one more.... REST!

Take care of that leg!

Well, I never got the bad antibiotic, because I double checked with the pharmacist before I got it filled. Good thing too.
