When things are already great… can you give that 10% extra?

By virtue of the fact that you are here, I’m
guessing that many of you are high achievers.

I have recently joined your ranks here at MTM.
Been a big believer of taking action, goals & attitude
for a long time. But, life sometimes gets in the way.
You know what to do, but don’t consistently take action.
MTM seems to be that critical part of the equation
that bridges the gap between what we know and
what we do.

Things are awesome now, but want to attack life
and go to the next level.

What would happen if you gave an extra 10% in the areas
where you already had things going great? Where would
you take things? I think that is part of what separates you
from the rest of the pack, and the positive impact will be
way more than 10%.

Thanks Scott & Carlyn!
Keep up the great work.

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

Great thoughts, Steve! I’m thinking if we all applied your idea, we’d soar!

Welcome to the boards, what a great way to enter.

Reminds me of something my boss was fond of saying, about Tiger Woods. He knew his strengths and weaknesses in the game of golf, and he concentrated mostly on improving his natural strengths. It didn’t make him the best overall golfer, but it gave him the competitive advantage to harness those strengths uniquely. Now, I know nothing about golf, I had to just nod along with this, but it makes sense to challenge yourself in areas where you’re doing well rather than beat yourself up for any deficits. Are you saying it’s time to buy those ten-pound hand weights and work up to them? smile Okaaaaay.
