Has anyone tried a body cleansing system?  It is said that they are effective in increasing one’s energy level by clearing out junk in our systems such as parasites and toxins.

I’ve heard that Dr. Ho has a cleansing system called Ab-Trimmer.  Before purchasing, I wanted to find out if anyone has tried a body cleansing system and whether or not they considered it worthwhile.

I’m not a big fan of any of these body cleansing systems, especially if it’s something you need to purchase.

I prefer balancing your eating habits and if you need to cut back for a few days, go to a diet of fresh fruits, veggies, with a little lean meat and eliminate processed sugar, refined carbs, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, flavorings, etc.  I think that would be as “cleansing” as anything you would have to buy.  In time, it will become more natural to eat only nutritious whole foods so a special cleansing diet will become unnecessary.

Hi Jeff,

I’ve had a few colonics before and could tell you about that in a private message.

But a good book you might want to check out is Dr. McDougall’s Digestive Tune-Up. I agree with Paula, the foods you eat affect your body. In the Digestive Tune-Up, you get a full run down of how your body digests food and what heavy fats and animal products really do to you. Kind of gross, but very informative.

You can learn more about it at: http://www.drmcdougall.com

I think I’m going to start this diet again and switch to a McDougall lifestyle for my birthday. I’d love to chat more on the topic though. I find it very interesting.

Hi guys : )

Im vegan and last year i went on a whole raw food diet, not eating anything but fresh fruit and veges for about 4 months..it was hard at first but after a while my body attuned and i started to feel the best i ever had in my entire life.

I basically ate the best nutrient rich foods and had things like nori and brewer’s yeast and super foods too such as spirulina and chlorella and barley grass powder.. i drank alot of water everyday and walked everywhere - like over 10 km a day.. i also took vitamin and mineral suppliments.

i lost alot of wieght - too much infact but my body became very clean and i felt like i could take on the world. I suffer from an anxeity disorder and my anxiety seemed to subside so much through the diet - my taste for natural foods were hightened and i had great wonders in experiencing new foods i hadnt eaten before - such as artichokes etc..

There is great beneifits from a raw food diet - esp as a detox. Physlium husks are good to cleanse your body too.

I dont think its worth buying into something when you can equipt yourself with alot of knowledge from books and off the net and see what works for you.

i cna tell you my mind, my skin, my eyes, my hair evrything was glowing - i felt sharp as after my detox.. im due for another now. : )

I did the Master Cleanse thing right after Christmas 2006. Funny thing, a friend on web site was going to do it for ten days, and I offered to do a sort of jog-along for the first three as a show of solidarity. Turns out he wimped out and I started it alone. I did make it three days. Took three days beforehand to eliminate all caffeine from my system slowly, then went to the cayenne-laced-lemonade (plus some mint tea at night) for three days. Had I been eating the way I used to it would have been quite a shock, but I was down to about 1100 calories a day at the time (pre-exercising) so it went pretty well.  I tried it a second time last March but couldn’t stick with it. Then again, I had become much more active and was hungrier.
