Hi All,

I have just bought body fat monitor scales and here are the results its given me:

19.5 % fat 54.5 % Water 36.9 5 Muscle = 110.9%

Does anyone know how the calcs are done?
Apparently I have no bone and weigh more than the sum of my parts??
I also seem to be verrrry hydrated are we meant to be one third water?
Can this be correct or are these scales defective.  Help please…

Hey Penny, those scales use elctro resistance to measure all that stuff and is not a 100% accurate, it’s just a gauge, the only true way to figure it out is with a water displacement test, they tend to be very pricey!

Thanks Shawn,
Yeah I’ve read about them. But I thought the scales would at least have an algorythm that added up to 100%.
But maybe they are not meant to? Cause there is water in muscle & organs etc anyways was just trying to get feedback if these scales are a dud and need to be taken back.

Thanks again
