I just hit 28 years old and i came to thinking that this has got to stop...this yo-yo dieting and i really have to make a habit of working out...Scott says that if a person works out for at least 6 months consistantly...it becomes a habit...wish me luck...i’m on day 6...that’s six in a row...anyway most of my life i’ve always had problems with my weight...it was always something that came to my mind...i ballooned up to 220....i lost 60 lbs of that but i think i gained another 30....the reason i say i think is because i have not looked at the scale in a long time...i would assume i’m around 190 or 200 around there...i’ll look at the scale again once i feel that my clothes are fitting better...lol i know..i should take responsibility for my actions and face the scale...look at it...the truth in my face but i’m not ready to do that...soon...very soon…

i am motivated tho...i have been working out everyday and trying to watch what i eat...i’m trying to lose at leave 40 lbs...i work out for at least an hr...i do my cardio then strength trainin with weights...i’m no professional but i do what i know… smile

Welcoma, I joined just one month ago and I’ve found lots of support from the forum and lots of motivation from the podcasts.  I’m sure you will too.

Welcome, again! I’d weigh myself right away. That way you have a number to go by for how far you’ve come. It does suck the first time you step on the scale, have a shot of tequila ready and just do it. Then in a week, you can see a smaller number and get stoked. And when people ask how much you’ve lost, you have a definite number to tell them.

Hi Ctina, welcome to the forum.

The forum is great, I joined over a year ago.  I have moved more in the last year than I have in the rest of my life!

Once again, welcome!

ctina,

i found the best way (for me at least) to lose weight was not only exercising (that is just a part) but tracking all my foods

I use http://www.fitday.com and it helps me know when I’ve overdone it.  I am very honest about what I eat and track everything.  I try to keep my calories within 2000-3000 (depending on how much I’m exercising)

Just a thought

Congratulations.... getting on the scales was obviously a big step, but you’ve done it.
And been lighter than you thought.... What a bonus that is.
Good luck on getting the weight down and the fitness up.
I’m sure that you are going to have some hurdles to overcome on the way, but that you will get to where you want to be.
Looking forward to seeing the Leaner, Meaner you.

Good Luck
All the best
Kev.

Way to go on weighing yourself! I’m proud of you, silly as that may sound, I really am. I started at 186, and I’m just 5’0”, the cool thing about being short, you can really see your progress!

Have a blast with the 7 in 7 program!!!
