Scott’s sources like Tony Robinson, Brian Tracey & Franklin Covey - know where to find them?

Hey there MTM land, I am really in to Scott’s podcasts and just can’t get enough (sad or???). I am trying to dig a bit deeper (a craving for knowledge is good, sweets on the other hand...) to read from the sources directly like
- Tony Robinson
- Brian Tracey (subject WHY)
- Franklin Covey (related to Stephen Covey?)
Does anyone know now where to find any books or material from these authors as an Amazon search ended up blank (or did I just misspell the names???).
Thanks,
Kenneth

Franklin Covey is a ‘day-planner’ company that was formed when Franklin Planners (Hyrum Smith) and Stephen Covey merged.  Their web-site is FranklinCovey.com If I recall from Scott’s recent podcast that employees from F/C planners have contacted Scott for interest in possibly a branded item for MTM (I can hope?).  Franklin has branded planners from Julie Morganstern and the 7 Habits series of Stephen Covey.

Back in the late 90s Smith and Covey were on the motivational speaking tours and it was a perfect fit since Covey tied-in the ‘7-Habits’ into the Franklin Planner’s ‘Value and Goals’ ranking method for setting up your day/week/month into their paper binders.

As for Tony Robbins and Brian Tracy not to mention Zig Ziglar, Dale Carnegie, Tom Peters and a few others (if you toss in the cast from the SECRET) these are the dozens of motivational speakers that offer products on Amazon and the like.

Hi Kenneth.

Stephen Covey is an excellent author and an extremely intelligent, compassionate, speaker and motivator. The Franklin/Covey Planners used to be just “Franklin” Planners, which got their name and a lot of philosophy from Benjamin. They became Franklin Covey in the later 90’s when Stephen’s company(ies) merged with the Franklin people.

Read 7 Habits and First Things First (My favorite)

Anthony Robbins is another phenominal author/speaker. I’ve even find his stuff even in our public library.

Brian Tracy is another excellent one. I’ve found a podcast of his and found a couple of his books in our library.

Hope these resources help.

Hey Kenneth,

Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, Stephen Covey, Jack Canfield, Zig Ziglar, Dale Carnegie, et al are an AWESOME source of inspiration.  I’ve listened to/read them all and would highly recommend any one of them.  If you’re ever interested in attending a seminar, I’d highly suggest Tony Robbins’ Unleash The Power Within event - it was life changing for me.  Landmark Forum is another cheaper, and pretty decent seminar, though some of the participants can be a bit cultish.

If you’re ever looking for inspiration outside of motivational speakers, there is so much good info for you to check out.  One great book I’d recommend is Discover Your Genius by Michael Gelb.  In this book, Gelb spotlights some of the most extraordinary humans in history and draws out the personal ethics and traits which made them so special.  Leo Da Vinci, Queen Elizabeth I, Einstein, Thomas Jefferson, etc. - he teaches you how to model yourself after these people to achieve great things.

Sorry to go off topic, I wanted to chime in on the above item.  My employer took our team to a weekend ‘retreat’ very similar to the above.  Just wanted to make sure if anyone choose to explore LGAT (Large Group Awareness Training) seminars to please take some time to prepare with the following resources:

To all -

In my humble opinion, Hyrum Smith is far more read-able than Stephen Covey any day.

I highly recommend his book “The Ten Natural Laws of Successful Time and Life Management.” My previous mentor lent me this book a long time ago and it remains one of my all-time favorites that I have shared with may others.

In the spirit of piling on with the other recommendations too, I thought Daniel Pink’s “A Whole New Mind” was an interesting read.
